...I didn't know these could connect outside the city. That doesn't make very much sense at all.

But that means there IS a connection to the outside, somehow.

Not just me. People from all different worlds; there's only one other person from Auldrant here. So far no one's been able to figure out how to get out.

From what I can gather, it's a self-contained town fashioned after a short period in the history of a planet I've never heard of. People from all over get pulled in, and we don't yet know how to escape. It's mostly populated with dead-eyed drones who have either always lived here or were created with the place.
