But he totally had to know by Crossroads, otherwise he would have come over that table right to Laura for an upclose Adama Pained Face (tm) when stoopid ol' Lee screwed it out of her.
I can't wait for you to tackle this part, the intensity really started to kick in at this point in the series.
As weird as it is to say, I've been really looking forward to the Son Also Rises/Crossroads because of what I consider to be the apex of their conflict.
Season Four shows them having conflict over issues, but they're together and no one's walking away from anything, so that's another whole kettle of fish.
I saw that EJO has had to bow out--such a bummer for fans going!

I love the recap from Jacob at TWOP, where he described the way that Laura leaned against the table as the universal sign for Bring It the Fuck On.
Poor A/R, never on the same page at this point. Laura's got those little orange flashlights out like they bring planes in with, and Bill's brooding on some screeching harridan that we're all thankful she's dead. Even Lee, it turns out. It's so frustrating! Thank goodness for fanfic!

I think cottle should give him a smack around the head for being an ass.

Cottle's got Laura's back, that's for sure. I think he's an even bigger romantic than Bill, and it's just not right for them to be apart!

I'm *trying* to keep it less anger from Laura, and more righteousness, but it's hard. I tend to write characters at extremes, particularly women--not sitting at home, sniffling, waiting for some man to come around--but that can be too hard-edged. But someone's style is what it is!
I see Laura as becoming that hard-edged person after New Caprica and into season 4, with a righteousness that can be misdirected. She's gonna fix it all, hell or high water. Bill's not on the same wavelength of intensity, but I think her cancer's return makes him take that head out of the ass!
