Laura lay on her back on her bed, holding the first chocolate over her head, admiring this rare treasure.  She would eat just one today, gain some energy

Oh, I know. I just couldn't help it! I started out with her just eating the one...and next thing I know, the whole box was gone... :( Sort of like when I eat candy.

I really enjoyed this! It *is* angsty, but I can totally picture Laura lying there eating chocolate and agonizing internally.

I liked this line, too:

"She was in the belly of the beast; Zeus had swallowed his wife whole."

- very evocative.

It was so funny. I was flipping around the dial to find something to write to, and came across a show about Zeus, so I thought, I better watch and brush up on my Greek mythology.

Just as I'm writing the bit about her imagining herself inside the Galactica, they said something about Zeus swallowing his wife, so I had to slip it in there. My muse speaks to me through the TV! (Just don't tell the authorities.)
