They were filming that bloody "Crazy In Love" movie (the Josh Hartnett one) right in the mall today. All day, spotlights everywhere, people everywhere...it was mayhem. Screw you, Hollywood. (Actually, it is being made by a local company called North by Northwest, but it is still associated with Hollywood, so there.) It looked mildly amusing, though - there were a lot of actors dressed as clowns and witches and other strange Halloween costumy things. Ahh, to be a crazy person. In a mall. Or something.
Richard got me a DVD. He gave it to me today. It is called "The Frogs", and I am positively delighted with the description! *purrs and rubs all over it*
"Jason Crocket is an aging, physically disabled millionaire who invites his family to his island estate for his birthday party. The old man is more than crotchety...he's crazy! Hating nature, Crockett poisons anything that crawls on his property. But on the night of his shindig, it's nature's payback time, as thousands of frogs whip up every bug and slimy thing into a toxic frenzy until the entire evironment goes environ-mental."
Also, Sam Elliot is in the movie. Double score. It is heralded as both "A flesh crawling experience!" and "A shocker reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds!" on the back. The tag line is this: "If you are squeamish, stay at home! COLD GREEN SKIN against SOFT, WARM FLESH! ...a croak ...a scream! FROGS!" AHAHAHAHHAA! XD
"Bubba Ho-Tep" is on video soon! (May 25th!) It never hit theatres here, but I will pick it up on DVD right away anyway. Bruce Campbell as Elvis in a retirement home with a black man (Ossie Davis) who believes he is JFK? Yes, please. Elvis and JFK battling an ancient Egyptian soul stealing mummy creature? *PURRRRRR*
Okay, enough, enough. I am going to call the boy creature now, and maybe he will be sleeping and I can just leave him a message like I did earlier ("YES WE HAVE NO BANANAS TODAY!!!"), but he asked me to call him tonight and I will feel bad if I do not. Even though I am tired and stuff, and do not want to do anything, which is totally why he wanted me to call him. I am a bad person. I am also a bad person because I let him borrow Johnny the Homicidal Maniac Issue #2, because someone still has my issue #1. And it almost got him in trouble at work today because he read it ("OH MY GOD! SOMEONE PUT SHIT IN MY PANTS!!!") while he was at guest services and could not stop laughing. I am a terrible, terrible person. =)
It's time for "The Frogs"!
