If I am going to use polysyllabic words in the title... then I just HAVE to use the word "Stuff" in the title. It brings balance to the universe!
Today I embark on a new journal thread. I have decided to settle, in my own mind, issues regarding Christianity and feminism. Recently, I have been troubled by both the circular nature of feminism and as well as the presence of sexism in the church. Thus, I need to get this issue handled.
I have also generated "Ground rules" for myself. First, I am going to set aside my previous bias(s) concerning the topic and will attempt to approach it with open intellectual curiosity. Second, I am going to assume that, whatever the answer is, God has made it available. Third, whatever the answer is it should be accepted as true generally, even if it goes against my other political beliefs. I may add more later... but those are the three I am going to start with.
I have decided to document the journey here, so that I can inflict it upon others and keep track of my thoughts. It should be very interesting... at least for me ;). Therefore I pose the new burning research question...
"Does Christianity allow for women to be equal leaders with men or must they govern within separate spheres?"
Thoughts? Comments? Writers that you recommend that I read?
