Car repair

Ryan and I picked up Ryan's car from the shop today. His brakes were making an awful grinding noise when you tried slowing down or stopping.

I searched the web for an auto repair shop a couple of weeks ago because I really needed to get the A/C in my Beetle fixed. It's getting to be too hot to drive around town without air. I came across a place not too far from our house that got a couple of good reviews. I liked the fact that the shop wasn't a chain, that it was an independent place.

We were going to take my bug in right when Ryan got home, but the brakes on his car had to go first. We dropped off his car on Monday and picked it up this afternoon. We paid $259. We decided to go ahead and drop off my bug for them to look at in the morning. Hopefully they will call Ryan and let him know what they think the problems is. Hopefully that problem doesn't cost over $1,000. If it's the compressor, that's what we're looking it. If it's something else, we might be able to get by on $500 or $600.

Either way, it needs to be done. It's way too fucking hot.
