So Harris came to the crypt after my fight with the m'fashniks the other night. Asked a lot of bloody annoying questions while I was lying there achin' in every muscle and just wishin' he'd fall into the hellmouth and disappear forever. So annoying I ended up spillin' the whole bit about the Jar of J'fara snappin' up Rupes' watcher knowledge (and ( Read more... )

Appreciate it, Pet.

*Frowns.*

His Sire got a soul--you can't mean Angel, he wouldn't be turnin' anyone unless he lost the bloody soul again. And if he had, they'd be whinin' to Red to come stuff it back in.

*Realized who she's talking about.* O-ho, it's Lindsey that's got you in a snit, is it? He and Darla makin' a family? Why would you want that wanker? Bloody poufter if you ask me. Which is maybe why you picked the boy, eh?

*Grins.*

Pretty sure the whelp is a once in a blue moon sort of deal. Most of our ilk don't have children unless we sire 'em. I think you can rest easy on that score.

Lindsey has greatness inside him. He's just being held back all because of some human child who has mother issues. The rules make my head hurt.

*makes a face*

Angel. Give me some credit. If ever there was someone to embarrass our family line...

However Mum will never admit it. Even if she can see he is completely lost to us.

Red. The witch who ensouls vamps. She is the one who did that blasted spell and turned me into whatever I am now. Someone should take away her magic books and lock away her potions.

I picked the boy because he is their weak spot. Remember you always said to find the weak spot and exploit it.

Lindsey and Darla both wanted the human child to come home with them, but for different reasons. Instead they are trying to pretend their vamped creation is a replacement.

*Shakes his head.*

Yeah, that branch of the family tree is a bit sack of hammers, i'n't? And don't even get me started on Peaches...give me my mad Dru any day, she makes more sense than the lot of 'em put together.

*Sighs.*

Well, can't kick on Red, she's gotten me out of a tough spot a few times. And I'd take it amiss if you did anything against her...might not be too healthy for you, eiter, she's got power, that one has.

As long as she doesn't come anywhere near me with one of those blasted orbs. *Smirks.*

*laughs and pulls out the bottle of Scotch from her jacket, opens the bottle taking a sip before handing it to Spike*

They are strange and eerily on the same page with one another. Not sure how Mum stands them most of the time. I guess she's just lonely and that wasn't a slam to you.

I'm not going to hurt the witch. She was powerful enough to make me special, not about to see what other tricks she has.

Crush the orb. If it shatters there is no way to do the spell. Bloody stupid paper weights.

Don't think Red'll be tryin' anything like that. I saw what it did to Peaches, don't think I'd be much good to Buffy if I went off the bloody deep end.

*Accepts the bottle and takes a swig before passing it back.*

Yeah, well Dru always sees everyone through strange colored glasses, no telling what she thinks they're about. It's all puppies and starry nights in her world, the faeries keep her company. Sometimes I don't think she needs anyone else at all.

*Glances at her.*

Bet she likes havin' you about. Might not want to mention the slayer bit, though, she might take it amiss.

She sees more than most people realize. Knowing Mum she already knows I'm a slayer and is keeping it secret. Never know what the stars are going to tell her to do.

*takes a long sip and passes the bottle back to Spike*

I get scared sometimes that I'm going to go mad. That the dreams will get worse or the battle inside me will rip me apart until there is nothing left but a shattered mind and too much power.

I hate fear. Hadn't felt it in decades.

*looks over at Spike*

Suppose I should tell you that I met up with some of the soldiers this week and left them to be found in the cave where they hurt you.

Don't suppose you want me huntin' soldiers either.

*Shrugs.*

I told you, Pet, the ones that put the chip in, they're long gone. The soldiers out there now are just the ordinary kind, fightin' the good fight for Uncle Sam or some such rot. So no, no more killin' them for me.

*Rolls the bottle between his hands pensively.*

Yeah, that kind of power has got to be...hard. Not like bein' a vamp, that's powerful and freeing and all sorts of good. But I've seen Buffy, her power is a weight, wears her down. Don't envy you that, sweets.

There is a responsibility to it. The dreams...

*searches for the right words*

I tried to ignore them before and there is a pain that comes from ignoring it. It's strange and I don't like it most of the time. It's different to feel the terror of victims I'm not hunting.

*shrugs*

A lot of rules for hunting in this town too. The lawyers will be very displeased if I don't do what they brought me here to do.

*smirks*

Granted, they never asked me if I wanted to come. They just assumed I'd do their killing for them. Arrogant and stupid, the lot of them.

I'll be leaving this town soon. Have to go back to LA and work on some things. I'm glad I got to see you...to talk with you. Even if you aren't the one who turned me, you're still Spike and I've missed you.

Those bloody lawyers Angel's always fightin'? Yeah, they love the deep games, but I think maybe they're in over their heads with you. You got your old man's will, Emily Anne, don't ever let them tell you what to do. Wankers.

*Wraps an arm around her and squeezes a little.*

Glad you made it by, too. Glad you told me. Can't be easy dealin' with the lot you've drawn, and if you need anythin', I'm here for you.

I tell you, the chip made me have to stop feedin', but I got used to it, and I'm alright. People can adapt, and you're strong, you'll make it. I can tell, Pet.

*hugs him back*

Thanks, Daddy.

*pulls away slowly*

You were heading out before I stopped you. I should probably let you go and I'll go find something to occupy myself.

I saved a really nice man the other night at the liquor store. He kind of reminded me of you. Same taste in scotch and cigarettes.

He knows Buffy. Calls himself Ripper. Are you mates?

You met Watcher Boy? Yeah, he's not quite himself right now, but he's alright. Usually gettin' himself into a snit over a molehill, the tea drinkin' pouf, but he's done me a good turn or two.

*Hands her back the bottle of scotch.*

Alright, Princess, you be careful. Don't let the voices get the best of you, and say hi to your Mum for me, eh? Come 'round again when you get the chance.

*hands him back the bottle*

You keep it. I'm not much of a drinker.

He helped me to knick the bottle, so it's kind of a present from him too.

*kisses his cheek*

I'll tell Mum. I'm sure she would be happy to hear you are still thinking about her.

Stay safe, Daddy.

*runs off, disappearing into the cemetary*
