Imagine you suddenly lose your ability to perform magic. You must now live like a muggle, and deal with everything they have to without the assistance of magic, all of your knowledge now rendered useless. How do you live? What philosophy or outlook do you feel you should take on? How do you think you can improve the world around you? How do you deal with ridicule and bullying? If you are in a situation where you feel threatened, what will be your feelings and reactions without having a wand? 2300 words or less please ♥

While it would be pretty troublesome to lose my wizarding powers, there are a variety of Muggle devices that can be substituted for magical spells and powers. The very first thing I would acquire is the Muggle equivalent of a wand: a cellular phone. This "electronic" device is a pocket sized box with buttons that can be carried around as easily as a wand, and by punching in the right combination of buttons you can contact almost any service that you would require. If you need food, you can use your cell phone to order it so you don't have to make it. If you need something repaired, you can use your cell phone to contact a repairman so you don't have to fix it yourself. If you are being assaulted or harrassed, you can dial the Muggle "police force" to protect you and detain the criminals, so you don't have to fight them yourself. This is just the start of how I would adjust to leading a peaceful Muggle life...

[etc etc blah blah detailed and rather knowledgeable description of cell phones, getting a technical job using computers so he could just sit at desk all day and play online chess without needing a real life partner, and all awesome muggle technology that could help Shikamaru follow his outlook on life: the laziest life possible]

Professor Hatake, I'm still working on your assignment. It should be done soonish. Unless it's too late to get credit for it, since then it's not really worth the time.
