Plot bunny for Stargate/Anita Blake crossover
Ergh... it's not a bunny it's a tribble. Gotta be. I fed one earlier and now there's a whole bunch of them around. AAAAAAAHHH!
Anyway....
This is a Stargate:SG-1 /Anita Blake crossover. Just a very tiny one. Spoilers for the episode of SG1, "Fragile Balance" where Loki cloned a Mini-Jack O'Neill.
Does anyone remember Van Cleef? The guy whom supposedly trained Edward and made him into the assassin he is today? I had this theory that I mentioned on another list and now I can't remember what list it was.
Anyway... my theory...
Van Cleef picked up throwaways (abandoned kids) to train as he did Edward. (In Obsidian Butterfly Bernado (one of Edward's back-ups) mentioned his upbringing- being hopped from one foster home to another.) Picking up throwaways and runaways might have been really easy. No one would miss these kids, and some might willingly go along with their education. After all, they're getting a warm place to sleep and three squares a day. And life on the street would have hardened them a bit already. Learning to defend themselves and kill people might have been a bit liberating. They might even view Van Cleef as a fair man.
Not sure where I'm going with this? Neither am I.
But I was wondering what someone like Van Cleef would make of someone like Mini-Jack. Or what Mini-Jack might make of Van Cleef.
Anyway.. the baby bunny is this...
What if Edward ran into Mini-Jack in all his scary-black ops glory, and Edward automatically assumed Mini-Jack was either from Van Cleef or trained by Van Cleef.
Must include Anita. And imagine Anita's reactions to Mini-Jack if Edward let her in on Mini-Jack being one of Van Cleef's. Somehow I don't see Mini-Jack dissuading Edward from this theory if it gets him back up. I can also see that Old Jack might have heard of Van Cleef in some distant rumor sort of way and might know that VC helps kids to grow up to be good little assassins.
Now you could take different directions with this. Perhaps no one finds out that Mini-Jack is not VC's student. Or what if someone of VC's whom knows Mini-Jack is not a student shows up?
Like I said, just a baby bunny. But with lots of love and attention I'm sure it can grow up to be a nice bunny.
