Back home again

From Methodist. Got home yesterday at 8:15 and I had to run off to work. (Originally scheduled at 8pm. I had already called them to let them know I would be late.)

The doc and some residents came around 12 to look at the bedsore and decided that it wasn't bad enough to warrant de-brading(sp?) so they were going to release her. Mom was glad to hear that.

So then we were waiting and waiting and hurried up and waited some more for her to actually be released. The doctor has to sign the release papers and then the social worker had to arrange transport home because my parents don't have a wheelchair van. (My dad usually rents one for her doctor visits, however they didn't have any available for immediate rental. My dad usually reserves one a week or two in advance of her doctor appointments.)

There is a handicap taxi service, but they need 24 hour notice.

My parents really need to get a van, but they are fricking expensive. Though my dad has been thinking about getting an used van, and finding someone to take out the chairs and put in a manual ramp. My mom doesn't like those lifts and automatic ramps anyway, they rattle like crazy when you drive along, and rattle with every bump. It drives her blood pressure up listening to that thing rattling while we drive along.

Gotta get ready to rush off to work now.
