Readings of 2016

Dec 31, 2016 07:02

Christmas has come and gone, and I received some great stuff this year, including a Wonder Woman blanket and pillow from Wendy, socks (I really need socks and I am not being sarcastic; all my socks have holes in them) and a gift card for the cafeteria at work from Lorena, and a Homestar Runner DVD from Shelby. I still have one last gift to give. (I'm looking at you, Selena.) I'll present it at MAGFest. Speaking of MAGFest, I don't think I'm gonna cosplay this year. I'm not really feeling it. I dunno.

As I mentioned in September I've started taking up reading as a hobby. I'm not proud to admit that I've never read nearly half of the classic novels that every reader ought to. Better late than never I suppose. Here's what I've read this year:

Adventures Among Ants (Mark W. Moffett)
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl
The Call of the Wild (Jack London)
Enormity (W. G. Marshall)
The Giver (Lois Lowry)
Guild Wars: Sea of Sorrows (Ree Soesbee)
To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee)
The Leafcutter Ants: Civilization by Instinct (Bert Hölldobler & Edward O. Wilson)
Moby-Dick (Herman Melville)

I'm currently reading Sherlock Holmes, and I've a few other books on standby that caught my interest. Other hobbies that intrigue me to want to start include archery, painting, playing the trumpet, and sculpting. Perhaps I'll make it my new year's resolution to start one of these things.

Goodbye, 2016. You won't be missed.
