Ok, so it's been a while since I have posted last...life has been busy, especially with the holidays & all!
December, all in all, wasn't a bad weight-watchers month...I pretty much broke even, give or take a pound. So that can be an astounding feat in and of itself :) I wish I could say that I was down more but ah well...sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches and see where you land, hoping it is feet first and ground running! Plus, with my MIL here for an extended visit, that makes eating well very hard! I try to cook every night, but with schedules and people coming & going, it doesn't make for an easy routine that I am normally used to!
So I start 2008 still in the 50's...but that's ok. I am just a "whisper away" from goal...(as my darling WW leader Karen says!) This week I have ramped things up and I am really excited! Tonight was my first Jazzercise class in years! I used to go all the time when I lived in Seattle, but just hadn't gone here and then the thought of paying more money for a class when I can run at home for free...well, free wins more often than not! But I have been thinking I needed something else. I am very dedicated with my morning routine, I get up every morning during the week and work out, but I have been wanting to add something, maybe with weights? And I know me...I am NOT dedicated about weights & training. Even my yoga dvd's...I have the best intentions, but after a day or two, the routing dwindles and I am half-heartedly going through the motions...I can get on the treadmill every day and either walk or run, no problem, but as me to do a dvd? No way...I need a class...I need someone telling me what to do. And when I heard from a co-worker that Jazzercise is FREE for county employees, I jumped at the opportunity! As I said, Free wins more often than not, so tonight it was off to Jazzercise I went! (I still walked 2.75 miles this morning, in case you were wondering!)
The best part about the class is that a lot of my girls from work are going too! So it was really fun! We could stumble around together and agonize about the squats and leg lifts together :) Just the fact that other people are planning on going makes me more accountable & apt to stick with the program...not that I wouldn't if they didn't go...free wins out and once I can fit something into my schedule that will be on a regular basis, I am pretty much a Nazi about sticking to it!
Plus, I feel good...I can't really walk up stairs at the moment cause my legs are toast (and I don't know HOW in the world I am going to run tomorrow, but here's hoping!!)...I had a great time! I am just hoping that this Saturday's WI will show better results than last weeks!!! I know that when you work your muscles differently, they can retain water as they heal...let's hope I don't retain too much :) I wanna see that 4 again, soon!!!!!!
