Returning to Victoria a little early...

So it appears that I will be back in Vic earlier than I thought. Apperantly I am now a lab technician at UVic. The tentative plan is that I will be arriving sometime the weekend of the 21, 22, and 23 of July. I'll only be in town for about a week and was wondering a number of things:

1) Places to stay? I hope to create a number of back up plans in case more than one plan falls apart.

2) Could someone teach me to crochet? I got the "hooks". Already a knitter here.

3) Does anyone know how to render Cedar bark into a fibre? I would be REALLY interested in figuring this out. Same for nettle.

4) Does anyone know of, or has anyone performed anykind of (preferably syntactic) linguistic analysis of the Doctor Seuss book "Green Eggs and Ham"?

5) What leisure activities will be available in a Babylon?

I'll be leaving again probably around the weekend of the 29 of July (brief stop over in Vancouver, if all goes well).

I am a fan of the wide range of tasks this job has required me to learn. I think I may make a few summers of this kind of work.
