Five Stories I Love
So okay, I tried hard to come up with a theme and that was taking too long so I decided to just post a list of 5 classic stories I go back to and read over and over again. There's fluff and angst and absolutely no thematic or tonal connection between any of these stories - except my love.
1) The Key to Her... Heart? by Purplefeen: What do you get when you mix a witch in a dire predicament, two horny vampires, some alcohol, overcomplicated excuses and schemes, and the Scooby Gang? Well, what you get here is a delightfully sexy, fun-filled romp featuring Willow, Spike, Angel, and a lot of naughtiness. Guaranteed to bring you joy... if you're over 18, that is. This one is NOT for the kiddies.
2) Hide 'n Seek by angelskuuipo: Still one of the most chilling drabbles I've ever read. Willow, Angel, and the kind of danger you never think about on the Hellmouth. Short but in no way sweet. Wow.
3) Cracks in the World, The Beating of the Bounds, and Sewing the Seeds by sparrow2000: A mesmerizing Xander-centric AU gen series by a woman who could teach a master class in world-building. This is an intricate and compelling tale of a boy and the tailor whose apprentice he becomes, a tailor who uses fabrics of all sorts and who teaches Xander what lies beneath... everything. I defy you not to be utterly spellbound and captivated.
4) Whatever Happened to Miss Kitty by Fayth: A Spillow story with a delightful twist... it's all told from the point of view of the opinionated, meddlesome, and very sarcastic Miss Kitty Fantastico. Part cautionary tale on the hazards of leaving bowls with spell residue laying around where any kitten could lick them, part adorable shmoopy romance, and ALL charming. Oh how I miss Fayth and her stories. *sigh*
5) Out of the Grey (the Fast Car remix) by lilbreck: Last, but by no means least, we have a remix of one of my own stories - Out of the Grey. Taking us into Willow's head as she seeks help from Angel to deal with Spike's post-soul sanity issues, Lilbreck offers emotion, pain, insight, and... well, if you've read my original story, you should know that this isn't the same tale. Trust me. You need to read this remix. It's outstanding!
