Some favorite longfic of 2015

Some of my favorite past year's long fic, arranged from shortest to longest.

signifying nothing by kwritten (Dawn-centric, PG-13, ~31 000 words). Season six character study. After her sister's death and resurrection, Dawn grapples with her own humanity and tenuous grasp on reality; as her depression swings her from reckless to numb, she reaches out to new friends for help and a new perspective.

By the click of someone else's slippers by Quinara (Buffy/Spike, R, ~ 34 000 words). Mid S6 AU: Spike's gone missing and Buffy has to travel to another dimension to find him... working as a pet detective in LA with Cordelia as a secretary and with no memories of Buffy whatsoever.
And did I mantion that it's not a crackfic?

Green Smoke and Empty Mirrors by apprenticebard (Dawn & Spike, PG-13, ~ 42 000 words). Dawn learns that Spike is in LA just before Angel goes ahead with his plan to attack the members of the Circle of the Black Thorn. For reasons she would rather not examine, she sets out on a quest to keep him from dying again. Naturally, she ends up examining them to death, while working tirelessly to ensure that she gets the chance to hash out exactly where the two of them stand these days.

Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt by pushingcrazies (AtS & BtVS Ensemble, PG-13, ~82 000 words). A beautiful fix-it rewrite of S6 of BtVS and S4 of AtS. At the beginning of BtVS S6 Dawn travels to LA and meets Cordelia, starting a chain of events that brings Angel Team and Scoobies closer together.

Ipseity by spuffy_luvr (Buffy/Spike, Dawn, PG-13, ~101 000 words). An extremely clever and insightful take on the amnesia trope. "Chosen" goes a bit differently, and now newly ressurrected amnesiac Buffy has to re-invent herself from scratch.
