I think these five stories featuring Willow Rosenberg are all pretty darn awesome and I hope you agree:
1)
Otherwise a Perfect Sky (Xander, Tara, Willow) by
aadler - What can I say about this? It's brutal and yet somehow delicate, poetic yet gritty, and absolutely heartbreakingly perfect. This post-apocalyptic take on The Gift (a remix of
deird1's also very terrific
Come Crashing Down) stands with the best of them.
2)
Destroying Your Hopes With a Flickering Spark (Willow/Angelus) by
dragonyphoenix - Wow. A chilling and elegantly cruel alternative to Willow making it home safely after running from the sight of Xander kissing Cordelia and one that will leave you shuddering. One thing's for sure: you'll never see candles the same way again.
3)
Shaper of Secret Worlds (Spike/Willow) by
lilbreck - Short but sparkling, this look at a spell turned on itself and the one with the power being brought to heel is unforgettable. Somehow,
lilbreck gives us everything in 480 words that never feel like too little... and yet they definitely leave us wanting more. *outside link*
4)
Tonight (Willow/Angel) by
purplefeen - A seriously lovely and engaging Willow/Angel tale from an author who's better known for Spillow, and it shows that she can branch out with the best of them. If reading the previous tales has left you hungry for hope, you can satisfy your appetite with this gourmet treat. *outside link*
5)
I'll Be Seeing You (Spike/Willow) by
inell - This is the very first story I ever read in the BTVS fandom... and it literally changed my life. Through it I discovered this amazing fandom, met the people who encouraged me to write, and made some of the best friends I've ever had. That aside? It's still a nifty little tale of Willow being menaced by a sinister admirer and our favorite bad boy vampire coming to her rescue. Enjoy! (And thanks again,
inell!) *outside link*
