I'm a die-hard Giles fan but truthfully, this has no effect on me. It's not like the real Giles died. Had he turned out to be the First in season seven I would have been devastated but with season eight, I'm just "meh". Those badly written and drawn characters might carry the same name but they are not the same characters.
So many levels of "I hate you!" And a lot of me refusing to leave my bubble LOL. I don't read the comics until they're TPB and have not been thinking of them as canon.
I think I voted, "I don't care because the comics don't count." The layout was all weirdly stretched, making it hard to tell, but it's all better now.
Even though I don't consider the comics canon, it's still kind of upsetting. Maybe it's because I just finished watching an episode of Buffy that ended with him being all awesome, so I'm full of Giles love at the moment, and this came as a total surprise. I kind of forget the comics exist so this was the last thing I expected to hear. I'm certainly not going to start thinking of him as dead now, though. It's just sad that other people will.
