Drusilla: Our Punk Ophelia
Drusilla is one of my favorite characters and I love her to pieces and Juliet Landau gave a standout performance.
I was thinking about her mental state. She's insane and unhinged, understandably, but she seems to have lucid moments. Do you think that she plays up a crazy psychic act, subconsciously or not, at times? I wonder if her mania is amplified because of her psychic abilities. Your thoughts on Drusilla's frame of mind?
My second musing is about what Drusilla does after she leaves Sunnydale for the last time. Does she feel Spike gain his soul back? Is she traveling the world? Can she see Darla's spirit? Does she know about Connor? She's arguably the lynchpin to the fanged four in many ways (some say Angelus but his actions in btvs s2 & ats s4 don't show that to me). Drusilla is always the one trying to get the family together and her relationship with Darla makes me think that while Dru & Spike traveled by themselves often, they kept in contact with Darla until she was staked the first time. For all her issues, she'll always be a family person at heart. Do you think she would try to make a new family or would she try again to join up with Spike or Angel?
