How do you view Spike and Angel's relationship? And how do you view William/Spike and Angelus' relationship?

Spike and Angel may have the most complicated relationship in the Buffyverse (Darla and Angel(us) would be a close second). It starts with the William/Angelus relationship. They're family, to be sure, with all of the complications that family brings. They have the son/father(grandfather) dynamic, where William simultaneously looks up to, resents, and competes with Angelus. When they reunite in AtS S5, they have the added weight of souls. I don't think anyone knows Spike and Angel as well as they know eachother, and that's why they can hurt eachother so effectively.

And then there was that one time.

Angelus was mostly responsible for turning 'william the bloody' into spike and when Spike won his sole it kind of took the shine out of Angel since Angels soul was forced back into him.

I always thought that the jelousy thing was centred around the fact that Spike eventually fell in love with someone and became 'more human' for them rather than Angelus who tried his best to run away from the connection he felt. (he choose to leave her to go to LA)

After all the hundreds of years of trying to ba as 'bad' ad Angelus , Spike eventually chose to become more humen than Angel.

With all those year of Spike chasing Angels shadow , in the end things kind of turned around.
