A couple of weeks ago I drove around in Pennsylvania. Among other things I visited a couple of BBM-fan fic related places.

For those of you that are familiar with Victopet´s story "In Plain Sight" I present...

Hi there, what a coincidence cause I thought about you when I was at Five Leaves. I remember thinking that you´d probably like the place. Very brownish-colors throughout the tiny, tiny restaurant, the whole layout very simple (the pipes was for example unpainted) and then the waitors were all very easy on the eye. The guy who owns the place was one of Heath Ledgers best friend and you could tell when looking at him. (Heath Ledger financed the opening of the restaurant, later his estate) Just as Heath, he had several tattoos and a very kind of bohemian way of dressing. Several of the waiters also sported Aussie accents, which was a bonus indeed:)

And I loved that you compared it to The Godfather. You´re absolutely right. This, for example is in an article on the restaurant:

Past is paramount to the McCormick brothers--even if it’s a fictionalized past. The retro bathroom with the pull-chain toilet in the basement bathroom of Moto was inspired by the scene in The Godfather where a gun is planted behind a toilet of a restaurant in the Bronx. The globe light fixtures at Five Leaves were intended to resemble gas lights, even though Johnny bought the connecting parts new and then scraped off the lacquer and applied rust. Kevin, meanwhile, likes to scratch 3-inch spots into paint, revealing the colors of phantom past tenants.

I'm beaming with pride right now, and I needed that since I lost all my bets on the ponies tonight. I can understand why you like that place, and not only because of the cute waiters, the interiors is absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't mind spending my next vacation in New York. The old parts of it certainly has a lot of charm. There, it's on my to-do-list now. I hope you had a great time with the Brokies. Nice to get away from old Sweden for a while, see something different and talk about things that makes you happy.

I'm gonna try and finish this before my broadband starts acting up. I haven't had a dependable connection for almost a week now(and that was just for a day or so), and I'm getting mighty sick of it. I blame ComHem and not my computer, because I've tried almost everything to make it better.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. They're inspiring.

Hugs!

Beam on! That was bloody brillian in my humble (well, not always so humble...)opinion.

I think you´d like NY, especially Brooklyn and parts of Manhattan such as Noho and Soho would be my guess.

Now, spank that broadband connection from me, if it starts to act up.
