Beth has been here over the weekend. I took Friday off and Monday was a Bank Holiday, so it was a lovely four days!
We went to Edinburgh, saw David's band play, danced, got very drunk-- a few times, and took a lovely David guided tour of the West End and Glasgow Uni. Only in Scotland would you have two very old, very beautiful stone churches transformed into pubs-- with beer gardens. We ate at one then just looked round the other one. It was interesting.
On our way back from Edinburgh we had the (albeit interesting) misfortune to sit behind a very drunk man who... uh... soiled himself. Yes, it was smelly. The bus driver offered the man his ticket money back but stated that he wanted him off the bus as he didn't seem fit to travel. (Uh... ya think?) The guy, however, in addition to being drunk, was also dumb- as in can't talk- and also had some kind of mobility problem not stemming from the drink. He was not really in any state to try and communicate either. So, the bus driver had to call the police. We waited on the bus for about half an hour before the next bus from Edinburgh to Glasgow came along (and still the police were not here!). They transfered us all to the next bus and left Mr. Peepants with the bus driver to wait for the police....
I would have loved to see how it all turned out, but that's just the sicko in me...
Sadly, Beth leaves today. It was really good to see her and our time together is never long enough.
