About a week ago, Casey and I were at Walgreens and there was this guy walking around outside with a toddler in his arms. He approached me and asked me if I spoke English. That's a weird question to ask me, since I am pale with freckles and don't look remotely like someone who wouldn't speak English. So then he gave me this sob story about how his family had been evicted and they had nowhere to go, and they were $12 short for a hotel room. He pointed to a woman who was sleeping in a car and said it was his wife. I wasn't too sure if he was telling the truth, but the fact that he had a baby made me want to do something. I gave him a dollar. I really didn't have much to give and besides, I still wasn't sure what his motives were.
So tonight I went to Walgreens again, and guess who I saw, wandering around with the same toddler in his arms? He actually came over and asked if I spoke English again. Hah. I told him I did, but had to go and rushed off. Man, what an asshole using his kid like that. I mean, don't tell me they are still homeless. Jeez, try going to different places next time, freako.
While Casey was in gymnastics class, I attempted to pay the now late fee for said class. I had never seen the lady that was behind the counter, so I assume she's new or just doesn't usually work there. She was having a hell of a time finding my information in the computer and figuring out what to charge me, so I said "I can just pay later" and she goes "Why, because I'm too stupid to figure it out?" Jeez. She kind of smiled when she said it, but it made me feel bad. I didn't mean it like that. Calm down.
Casey was mad that I showed up at her gym class right when it was over. I usually drop her off and go run errands, but make it back for the last 15 minutes or so. But tonight I had to go to the church to retrieve her jacket (we think she left it there when we had church Sunday... but alas, nobody was there when I went to get it. I'll have to call tomorrow), then go to Publix for groceries, then to Walgreens for more eyebrow stuff (hers was in the jacket she lost) and a few other things. So I'm lucky I managed to do all that in the hour that her class lasts. I'll have to try to see some of the class next week. I also got her her own tube of deodorant and some body spray. She has major BO issues and doesn't seem to care, so I was hoping she'd get excited about that. It worked... she was spraying the hell out of the body spray, until I had to take it away.
I emailed Ken about that Jeff guy to see if he thought I should give him a chance. Yes, Ken is his friend, but he's my friend too, and if Jeff is a creep I don't think Ken would tell me he wasn't. So... we'll see.
Earlier, Willow was running around the house with a scrub brush in her mouth. I'd used it this morning to clean up the shit she'd left on my bedroom carpet when I was in the shower. Dammit. So she was running around holding it by the handle, and it looked funny, like she was getting ready to clean the house. I took several pictures of her, but none of them came out right because she was running around. Oh well.
Earlier, Casey gave me all kinds of trouble when I made her take a shower. She said she was going to kill herself again. I think because "I hate you" no longer phases me, she's looking for some other shocking thing to say. She's trying to figure out how to get a rise out of me. So when she said that, I said "whatever" and walked away. She went into the kitchen and opened the silverware drawer. I asked what she was doing and she said "I said I was going to kill myself and you didn't care". But all I had to do was take one step in her direction and she acted like I was going to beat her. She goes "OKAY, OKAY, I'll go." and she went and took her shower. When she got out, she yelled downstairs, "You know I hate you, right?" and I said "Yep. You tell me every day." I'm not worrying that much at the moment, since we are going to see the counselor Friday. I'll see how concerned I should be when I talk to her.
You know, I think I hear the water still running upstairs. I'm going to kick her ass when she wakes up in the morning.
