Happy Father's day to any daddies out there, and the moms who assume both roles! I had a nice day... church and then brunch at Perkins with my parents, home to shower, finish laundry, and pay some bills, and then I went to JC Penney. I'd gotten a $10 off anything in the store coupon in the mail, plus everything was on sale. So I got a top for work and got my dad a t-shirt that says "I'm Irish. I'm here. Looks like this is your lucky day." (that was $1.97, I guess because it's meant for St. Pattys Day). Those 2 things combined came to $9.97 and they are very strict about spending $10 or more in order to use the coupon, so I wandered around looking for something really cheap. Ended up spending $5 on a plain men's t-shirt. I wear those to the gym and for zumba and stuff, so that works. So then I went to Target and got my dad's other Father's Day gift, the True Blood soundtrack. My mom had suggested that, and he's impossible to buy for so I went with it. He didn't seem too thrilled, honestly. At first he was like, "What is this? A season of the show?" (because yeah, a whole season of a show on DVD would be the exact same size as a CD) and then he was just like "oh... ok". I threw my mom under the bus, "it was her idea!" Ha ha, whatever. Anyway, I also grabbed him a card, plus birthday cards to mail to my aunt and uncle and some groceries, but I didn't have time to get them all. I'll have to finish after work tomorrow. I had to run home to wrap the gifts, change and then meet my parents and brother at Longhorn Steakhouse for Father's Day dinner. We had a yummy dinner, and my brother and I split the bill between us (well, my mom threw in $20). Now I'm hanging out at home, trying not to fall asleep in my recliner. Casey texted me that her bus should be getting back from Tennessee in about 1/2 hour, so I'll have to head out to get her soon. I'm glad she's coming home. And while she was gone she was getting invited to 49,000 events, so I need to talk to her about her schedule for the next week, before she takes off for Girl Scout camp next Sunday.
