I saw two movies today - The Lovely Bones at the theater with April and Jeff, and He's Just Not That Into You via Netflix with Casey.

The Lovely Bones was great. It kind of drags at times, but mostly I really liked it. I really want to read the book now because I kind of felt like there was more they could go into that they didn't, and the books always have more detail. Plus the movie is kind of deep and I bet you miss a lot of the symbolism, etc. the first time around. So yeah, I'm 5th on the waiting list to get the book from the library for my e-reader.

He's Just Not That Into You was cute, although the women in it were annoyingly clingy and desperate. I kind of figured out the whole "if he doesn't call, it's because he doesn't like you" thing a while back. But then I have a lot of experience with that. LOL

Today was also church and then dinner at Applebees with my parents and of course Casey. And groceries, but mostly a lot of sedentary stuff, which is why I'm surprised my pedometer logged over 9,000 steps today. I think maybe it's a little too sensitive or something. I'm participating in a contest at work where we wear them for 6 weeks and people/teams with the most steps get prizes. I put together a team of some of my co-workers, and it started today. Hopefully they all remembered to wear their pedometers. I don't for a moment expect us to win because I'm sure there are some hard core groups out there going for 10 miles runs together or whatever, and we're, you know, accountants. But it could be a fun way to encourage each other to walk a little more, and maybe I can get my gym buddies to come hop on the treadmills with me, or we can go for walks during lunch or something.

So, tomorrow is Martin Luther King day, which means Casey is off and I'm not. So I'm taking her and 2 friends in with me and letting them hang out in the parks while I work. These 2 friends happen to both be boys. Lord help us. But I am 99% sure one of them is gay, and I'm hoping his being there will help keep the straight one at bay, LOL.

Speaking of which, we were talking about boys today and she said "I have a totally different way of looking at it than a lot of my friends. The way I see it, the only reason to date is to find the person you're going to fall in love with and spend your life with. And who finds that at 13? I'm not ready for that. so it's going to be a looong time before I have a boyfriend."

How did she get to be so smart?

casey (boys), health, he's just not that into you, the lovely bones, exercise, movies
