Friday - Casey went to Danielle's birthday party at Wonderworks while I stayed home and got caught up on all the shows my dad has been taping for me the last few weeks - True Blood, Hung and Weeds.

Saturday - Woke up around 9, followed my usual Saturday morning routine of staying in bed with the laptop for a bit, and finally stumbled out of bed, washed some sheets and towels, balanced my checkbook, paid some bills, and then colored my hair. I also somehow managed to color part of my hand. It looked like I had a nasty bruise between my thumb and pointer finger. I tried nail polish remover, and then after some googling, a combination of dish soap and baking soda, then toothpaste, comet, and finally vaseline. Each thing took away a little bit, but the vaseline seemed the most effective after I left it on for a while. It was still just barely there, but it has since faded away so it's all good.

But my hair came out good. Here, let me show you it.

Revlon Burgundy. It's mostly red with sort of a purple tint. Casey swears it's totally purple, but she's crazy.

So then Casey got up (at 2PM. Ha) and we headed to Universal to ride the new coaster. It was really fun, but the line moved way too slow. We waited 1 1/2 hours. They didn't have the single rider line open when we first got there, but they did open it later and we attempted to use it to go a second time, but that line moved much slower than the regular one and I think if we hadn't given up we would have been waiting just as long. Bleh. But yeah, cool stuff. I think when it gets less hot and busy I'll hop on again during my lunch break one day. I'd like to eventually ride it with all the song choices (you get to choose one of 28 songs to hear during the ride. Each seat has its own speakers. Very cool. This time I chose Pump It by the Black Eyed Peas. Oh, also there are apparently secret extra songs you can get the codes for online).

So then we went and saw the movie Shorts. Casey liked it. I did not. It's definitely a kid's movie, but I am a kid at heart and sometimes I like that stuff. But this was not good. It was dumb. I'm glad I used free tickets.

Sunday - went to church with my parents, where we witnessed the unfortunate incident of a Eucharistic Minister tripping and falling, dropping the wine on her way down, and then another minister tripping on that, falling and dropping the host. Yikes. I guess everyone is okay... they took them in back and cleaned up everything pretty quickly. As long as they ARE okay, I'm thinking it would have made a good America's Funniest Home Video moment...

After church we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and then my mom took Casey shopping for school supplies while I went home and put away dishes, worked on laundry, bathed the dog and got groceries. I also fixed the laundry door, which had come completely off its hinges. All the doors in my house seem to be falling apart lately. Jeez. But I was proud of myself for fixing it.

I also put up some fire alarms in the house. We had one that was basically in the kitchen and it was a pain in the butt because it would go off every time I cooked, so I moved it to the stairway, and then I installed a new one upstairs outside our bedrooms. I had the hardest time with that one because for the longest time I could not get the 9 volt battery to fit. And then I realized I'd been putting it in backwards. LOL, WTF? I had the whole plus and minus thing confused. Dork. But it gets worse. Later on we're upstairs and I'm like "Look Casey. I put up this alarm. Doesn't it look nice?" and I look over and THERE'S ALREADY ONE UP THERE. I have lived in this house for 6 years and never noticed it. Maybe I shouldn't admit that in a public forum, LOL. In my defense, Casey, who is much better than me about noticing things, hadn't seen it either. She said it blended in with the wall, which it kind of does. Well, it's either broken or the batteries were dead when I bought the house because it's never made a peep in all these years. But wow am I a doofus.

This evening we went to Casey's Girl Scout leader's house for a BBQ / kick off meeting. The girls got to swim in the pool. I don't see why she insisted the parents stick around because we didn't do much. She told us a few things that could have been relayed via email or during pick up, and all I could think about was all the things I wasn't getting done at home because I was sitting there instead. Oh well, I did get a nice dinner and some grown up conversation out of it.

So, it's almost midnight, and this computer is being really slow... like, it can't seem to keep up with my typing, which is annoying. So bed now.
