So hey, a tornado just touched down about 5 miles from my house. Good times. Hopefully it won't get closer. The sky is lighting up all freaky at the moment. It's lightning of course, but it's like these flashes of light across the whole sky. I don't think I've ever seen it like that before.
Willow doesn't give a crap about the thunder, but the Geek Squad power thingy my computer is plugged into beeps every time the power blinks off, and she HATES that thing. She freaks out every time and tries to attack it. Ha.
Ah, the news just said this area is pretty much in the clear. There's still a lot going on further north though. Yikes. Welcome to Florida in the summer.
Anyway, Casey called me last night at close to midnight. She was in Mexico and probably wasn't thinking of the time difference, plus she's on vacation stay up as late as you want no worries time. Well, I was asleep when she called. The phone woke me up, but for a while I was in a sleep fog and didn't know what was going on. I thought it was my alarm clock at first, and got out of bed to go turn it off (I keep it on the other side of the room or I'd hit snooze without ever waking up). By the time I realized it was my phone it had stopped ringing. She left me a voice mail - "I actually call you and you don't answer. Nice. It's Casey". Ha. I didn't call her back because she was calling from Elise's phone (hers must be dead or something) and I didn't want her to get roaming charges. Casey probably used one of her calling cards to call me. So, I'm glad to hear from her anyway and know she's okay, and hopefully she'll try again soon. I was talking to a co-worker today and she was shocked that I wasn't freaking out that she wasn't calling me every night. I told her I'm just not one of those parents. I trust the people she's with, and if something happened they'd call. She's fine. I'm surprised she called me at all to be honest.
This morning I got a flat tire on the way to work. Bah. I was going to try and change it myself even though I've tried that before and have never had the strength to get the lug nuts off, but as I was pulling my spare out of the trunk a man pulled over and offered to help. But alas, turns out I don't have a wrench or anything to get the tire off, so he couldn't help. I had to call roadside assistance, who showed up about 1/2 hour later and took care of it for me. Got to work at a little after 9. This evening I took the car to Tire Kingdom and they repaired the tire and replaced my tail light, all for $28 and I was out of there in 20 minutes. Not bad. Got to watch part of a Harry Potter premier special in the waiting area. Woo. I'm psyched to see it, but want to wait until it comes out in 3D on the 29th. I've been re-reading the book and I can't believe how much I forgot. I swear it's like I've never seen this book before. I think it's been like 4 years since I read it, but still. My memory sucks! Casey and I are going to try to watch the first 5 movies before we go see the 6th because we both forgot everything. I own the first 2, 3-4 were on TV recently and I DVRd them, and I've added the 5th to my Netflix queue. Wee.
Speaking of Netflix, I'm gonna go watch Step Brothers now. Kay bye.
