My Second Job
Keeping track of Casey's schedule is becoming quite the task. Here's what her summer is looking like:
-Camp at the school every weekday, with field trips twice a week. Tomorrow they are going to a water park, and we spent all evening trying to find the top half of her bathing suit. She's going to have to wear an old one because her messy room apparently ate the new one. You know, the one she's only worn once. SIGH. Hopefully when I make her clean her room it will turn up.
-Tomorrow she wants to get her hair cut, even though we just got that done 3 weeks ago. She's suddenly decided she wants it shorter, so we're going to bug my brother and see if he has any room in his schedule. Also tomorrow is a potential Girl Scout meeting. They are supposed to be on break for the summer, but then her leader sent out an email about an optional meeting tomorrow night and she's thinking about going.
-Thursday she's going to Anna's birthday party. It's an all day thing at a lake, and she's supposed to be picked up between 5 and 6, but has a feeling she might end up spending the night. I'm supposed to be going to that coalition for the homeless happy hour thing that evening too, and may or may not bring her with me, depending on what happens.
-Today she was invited to spend a week at Daytona Beach with Brianna and family. They'll be gone this Friday until next Friday. I okay'd it because it was really nice of them to invite her and I know she'll have a blast, but now everything else has to be moved around. She was planning to go to open gym Friday night (a thing at the place where she used to do gymnastics - 2 Fridays a month, they have pizza and do gym stuff... she misses being a gymnast and wanted to go), so now we'll have to see if there's one she can make in July. She'll miss Father's Day dinner with my dad Sunday (also need to plan something with her dad at some point), and I have to move a doctor's appointment she was supposed to go to Monday. We were also going to go to a free screening of My Sister's Keeper Monday. Hm, I guess now I have to invite a grown up to go with me!
-She's been invited to spend a Friday and Saturday with Dana because her mom works from home on Fridays and then wants to take them to Sea World the next day. She has exactly one free weekend left this summer and it's not until July 24th, so I guess that's when she's doing that.
-July 11-18th, she goes on the cruise with Elise
-August 1-8 will be spent in Key West with her step-aunt.
-August 12-16, we are spending in the Georgia mountains with family.
-August 24th she starts 8th grade.
I don't even think that's all of it. It's just what comes to mind. Lucky kid. Tired mom. But hey, look at all the kid free time I've got coming up! Should I use it to go out and party or sit home and enjoy the peace? Both please.
