Tonight I went to Howl at the Moon (a piano bar) with Christine, Melanie, Rhonda, Jean and several of Christine's former co-workers. Most of them were let go in a massive lay off a few months back (including all the previously mentioned people... except Jean, she never worked there. Heh) and they still get together once in a while so they can stay connected, which I think is pretty cool. This one lady won a party, which is why we were there. I think just about everyone who enters wins eventually since it's just their way of getting people in the door. You can bring like 100 people for free and everyone gets their first 2 drinks for $1 each. Plus, free buffet. Sweet.
We had a pretty good time, except for the part where Christine's car got towed (she drove me there, btw). There isn't anywhere to park there unless you do valet, so she parked at the Dennys next door, and the douchebag manager was standing outside watching people park and then waving the tow truck driver over after they left. Someone asked him how he knew who to tow and he said "Because nobody's in my restaurant". Well then, why do you need those parking spaces so bad, asshole? Jeez. So she and Mel left pretty early so they could go pick up her car, and Jean and I hung out a bit longer to laugh at the drunk people before she took me home.
I took some crappy pictures with my cell phone. Let me show you them.
Servers standing on the piano and dancing to Grease Lightning.
They had some women sit on the piano and then encouraged the guys to come up and sing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" to them.
Hot guy playing a guitar
This was really cool. They had this one section of the place closed off and we were like WTF? and then at one point during the show they said "turn your attention to the curtain in back", and it comes up slowly and there's fog and lights, and there they are, singing Billy Joel's You May Be Right. Granted, they could have used a more rock n roll song than that, but it was still very cool.
As for the rest of the weekend -
Casey is at camp most of the weekend. Since they had to leave this afternoon and she is unemployed, Christine took the girls and I'm going to pick them up Sunday morning. I have no plans until then other than trying to be somewhat productive while enjoying a peaceful house. Sunday we are supposed to be getting together with Tanya and Kayla, possibly for a trip to Sea World, but Tanya isn't answering my emails or texts. Oh well. I would also like to maybe go to church tomorrow or Sunday evening. We'll see.
