Yesterday Casey came home from her sleepover and announced that she wanted bangs after all. I told her that I was not going to call her uncle for a third time to try and plan it if she was just going to change her mind again, that once I made that call she was doing it, and she swore she would. And now it's done, and she looks great. She's not sure what she thinks... she looks very different and I think it's going to take some getting used to, but I think overall she's pleased. My brother and I both think she looks great, and even older than before. I'd love to post a picture, but you know she won't let me take one. I saw her take one of herself with her phone, so I may try to snag that at some point.
Mardi Gras was fun last night. We didn't have time to ride anything because we had to wait in line to get Casey's annual pass redeemed. The lady who did that asked me if she was a minor and I was like "Uh, yeah. She's 12" and she was like "Wow, she's tall. That's 12, huh?" LOL, I told you she looked older with bangs. And then the lady told her she was beautiful and she grinned and thanked her.
So we saw the parade and caught some beads, and watched people act like idiots. I cannot believe how crazy people go for those cheap plastic necklaces.... knocking each other over, fighting our KIDS for them, trampling the bushes to try and get a pair that landed there, and even climbing on a fence and pulling down tree branches to get ONE STRAND that landed there. UGH, morons.
Neyo was good. He sounded great and he's a good performer (very dramatic), but I didn't realize that 99% of his songs are slow. I'd gone there expecting a dance filled night, but we only got that when he did his big hits, Closer and Little Miss Independent. It was fun though. He did a little tribute to Beyonce (his wife... or girlfriend, not sure which) by singing parts of like 5 of her songs and getting us to sing along. We had fun, and got home earlier than expected (he only performed for an hour, which we thought was weird), around 10:30, which is a good thing since I had to work today.
Yeah, I worked in the vault. It was supposed to be 9-1, but they asked me to stay longer and I gladly did (It's so boring there, but 'll take all the hours I can get). I was there until almost 3:30. Now my paycheck will only be 2 hours short. I think I can live with that.
While I was there, Christine took Casey and Danielle to their Girl Scout cookie booth, where they sold a measly 3 boxes. In 2 hours! WTF? That's awful. They are going to try again next weekend.
Brianna's park outing that Casey wanted to go to was 1-6 today, and she was out of luck since I was at work and with her cookie booth going until 2, she wouldn't have been able to ride over with Bri. She even called my mom and asked if she'd take her, but she and my dad were going to go see The Wrestler that afternoon. So when I got home at 4, I grabbed Casey and Dani and took them then. They still got to have fun for an hour and a half before Bri's mom brought them home. While she was there I made a quick grocery trip (very quick, I'm pretty broke and only spent $15 this week, but yay for Aldis' cheap prices, I got enough for us to get by pretty well), and then went home and sorted laundry and put away dishes while watching an old episode of Damages (I'm still a few eps behind).
Oscars tonight. Eh. I haven't seen 99% of the movies nominated. I'm going to DVR it and fast-forward a lot.
