My attempt at getting a similar but more kid friendly version of the Moment of Truth game was not as successful as I'd expected. The closest thing I could find was a Truth or Dare game, which would have been perfect if it wasn't Hannah Montanna themed (Casey and her friends gag at the thought). I made the mistake of not making her come with me to pick something, so I ended up on the phone with her, describing several other games and being told no way for each one. We eventually settled on a panda puppet. Briana is obsessed with pandas, so it works. We had considered it when we were there together, but it's $16 which I think is ridiculous for a dumb little puppet, but whatever. I gave in because I wanted to go home. That's what shopping with Casey does to people... she takes so long to decide that you'll agree to pretty much anything if she'll just pick something already. It's the reason some of my Mother's Day and birthday presents have been less than awesome (really grandma? you let her buy me a snowcone maker?).
So I went home and took a shower (trying to start doing them at night because it's too cold in the mornings with no heat, and also we're usually in a hurry), and then as I'm getting dressed I hear those damn squirrels chasing each other around my attic. Casey and I have been walking around smelling like moth balls for over a month (what made me think putting them in my attic was a good idea? Guess I didn't know how strong they smelled) and those little bastards are still up there having a party. GR. Willow was freaking out, running around and looking at the ceiling like WTF?
Great episode of The Office last night. I am as heart broken as Michael about Holly. I know Amy Ryan is like this big movie star and they probably have to pay her a lot of money and she probably has very limited free time, but DAMMIT Holly was such a perfect addition to the show. SOB.
Also, Andy+Dwight=Magic.
Speaking of movie stars on TV shows, Lindsay Lohan has been fun on Ugly Betty. I was saying how I figured she wouldn't be sticking around long because she's a big star and all, and Casey was like "Pfft, she's not doing anything. Maybe she needs to go back to rehab though." Ha. Nice.
This morning I had a research clinic check up. I lost another pound. I've had a loss every visit for a while now, even though it's tiny, like a pound a month. But that's not bad when you aren't even trying, and hey it's going the right direction at least. I only have one more visit and then the study is over. It's been 2 years. Hey, I should be getting paid just in time to buy Christmas presents! I'm going to keep my eye out for more studies so maybe I can go back. It would be nice if next time I get a real pill that actually does something. This time I either got a placebo or that drug just doesn't work on me.
Oh, I think I mentioned before that the coordinator and nutritionist think they've found my soulmate in another patient of the same study. They aren't allowed to tell me anything about him because of confidentiality and all that, but they kept joking today about how next month the study will be over, so on our last appointment they are going to try and "accidentally" leave us in a room together. LOL, I don't know if they were serious or not, but if I end up randomly sitting in a room with some guy, it's going to be awkward.
Oh yeah, also - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I'm going to post my weekend plans separately, because this got a little long.
