So this afternoon Casey and I went to that Dominos Pizza customer appreciation thing. She was entirely too cool for the bounce houses and simulator (which was basically just one of those car race video games, but inside an actual car), so all we really did was get a slice of pizza and some popcorn and leave. But hey, free food. And we didn't have to go far... it was right across the street from our neighborhood.

After that we went home and watched Baby Borrowers (that's a good show. Those teenagers are snot balls. I'm sure that's why they were chosen for the show though), Casey took a shower and then we headed to my cousin's house for a family get together.

In the car on the way there -

Casey: So there's this girl at my school, and she's really prissy and everything. You know, one of those All That Girls...
Me: What's an All That Girl?
Casey (staring at me incredulously): You don't know what an All That Girl Is?
Me: Um. No. Is it a girl who thinks she's all that?
Casey: Yeah.
Me: Ok. Never heard of it.
Casey: Wow. You really are old.
Me: Thanks.

Anyway, we had a nice time seeing everyone at the house. Casey was having a blast hanging out with Dana and didn't want to leave, so Chris offered to take her home with them for the night (I left at 11 and they were still there, swimming in the pool). Chris does that a lot. I almost packed a bag just in case, but then I thought that would be kind of presumptuous. She can just borrow Dana's stuff. We are all getting together at my aunt's house tomorrow evening, so I'm just going to get Casey there. So, not only do I finally have a day off and a chance to sleep in tomorrow, I get the whole day to myself. I'm totally psyched.

So, my parents gave me good news and bad news about the funeral. The good news is that we are going there in a limo. It's a 1-2 hour drive, so that should be kind of neat. I've never been in one before. The bad news? There will be a 21 gun salute at the service. They are doing the whole military thing for him, which is great. But I have a phobia when it comes to loud noises, and I'm really worried about it. I know it seems silly, but this is very real to me. And there is really nothing I can do but suck it up. I can't not go, I can't go hide in a building somewhere, I can't even plug my ears. That would all be disrespectful. So I'm freaking out a little. But this is not about me, it's about Bob. I have to try not to be a baby about it.

dana, baby borrowers, kids say the darndest things
