More good news on the Casey front - her band teacher invited her to join Wind Ensemble next year. There were only 8 flute spots and about 20 kids competing for it, so it's quite an honor. She was so excited. A big part of the excitement is that they apparently go on some pretty cool field trips. I think 7th grade is going to be a good year for her.
I did skip that dinner last night, and instead I tried to take Casey to see Discovery Cove. We wouldn't be allowed to walk around in there, but I have found out from working there that anyone that wants to can walk through the lobby and stand by this wall that overlooks the whole place. You can see pretty much everything from there, so we let people do that if they are trying to decide if they want to buy a ticket or not. When I told Casey about that she couldn't wait to go take a look. Well, by the time we got there last night, the lobby doors were closed and they wouldn't let us in. It was only 7, and I've never seen them close the doors that early. The place closes at 5:30 but they don't make people leave. They just start closing the restaurants and waterways and let people drift out on their own. It can get as late as 8 PM before everyone is out. I know I'm pretty new there, but the earliest I've ever seen us shut down was 7:30. Maybe weeknights are just less busy. So that was kind of disappointing. You can't see anything at all unless you go through the lobby... they have (beautiful) trees and plants all over that cover it all up. I told Casey we'd go back on Sunday after I get off work.
One reason we got there so late is that Casey insisted on showing me these Youtube videos of
Charlie The Unicorn. This is her new obsession. She even convinced me to buy her a t-shirt from the website. The videos are completely ridiculous, but also hilarious.
"We're on a bridge Chaaaarlieeee!" ROFL
We watched Bones and Desperate Housewives last night and they were both awesome. Emily Deschanel and Dana Delany were particularly amazing. That is all.
