(no subject)
Casey and I spent yesterday evening at the Central Florida Fair. Her dad's band was performing there, so we saw them for a bit and then rode some rides and ate some awesome(ly fattening) food. Speaking of rides, I'm old. I wouldn't ride the majority of the stuff there because I knew I couldn't handle it. I love me some thrill rides, but the ones at fairs are so... spinny. Casey's favorite was one of those where you stand in this room and it spins so fast you slide up the wall. She rode it three times (weeknight=no lines, woo). I didn't even like those when I was a kid. I didn't like how it squished your face against your skull. So I only rode a couple of rides with her, and we also went through a fun house and saw some stinky animals. And some scary carnies, which by the way seemed to be flirting with me a lot. This is what I attract these days. Great, LOL.
We got home at around 9:30, watched the last half of American Idol (my DVR randomly decided not to record it. Bastard. I missed the Andrew Llyod Webber goodness. Guess I can watch online, but it's not up yet) and a couple of Colbert Reports (I'm about a week behind) before going to bed at 11.
And then today we had to get up at 6. Blah. Guess I need to get used to that, since I'm starting my new (early) job next weekend. I brought Casey in today for Take Your Kids To Work Day. They've got them until around 4, at which point she'll be coming back to my desk with me. I don't know what they have planned for them, except that it includes a go green theme (which Casey is really into these days), they will be given a packet of seeds to take home with them, and we parents are invited to have lunch with them, at which point they will be doing some kind of presentation. Cool. They were having breakfast when I dropped her off, but it was really limited. They just had sesame bagels, croissants and some kind of berry muffin. None of which Casey will eat, so she didn't. She's not a big breakfast eater anyway. Hopefully lunch with be better. Oh, and there were characters there hanging out with the kids, but Casey is way too cool for that, LOL.
