Casey spent a little over $50 at Claire's last night, which means she bought a lot of stuff! She used a gift card her dad sent her and some of her birthday cash to get a ring, some bracelets, hair clips, earrings (which she can't wear for a few more weeks) and a cute hat. I don't know who this jewelry loving kid is. But as she put it, "When girls get to 6th grade, they change because everyone gets on their case and says they look too much like the girl next door." Okay then.
Also, while watching me play Guitar Hero, "You're way better than me. It's not fair though, because you're old and know the songs." Um, thanks. LOL
Speaking of Guitar Hero, I'm scared of the blue and orange keys. The easy level pretty much sticks to the other 3, but last night I was playing a song and they hit me with a blue note and it freaked my shit out. I'm not ready for that yet!
Watched Night of Too Many Stars last night. It was a benefit for autism hosted by Jon Stewart. Jon was, as always, amazing. 90% of the show was pretty bad and unfunny, but there were moments. Like Steve Carrel trying to eat a whole cake, Kevin James as a Blue Man (at first Casey and I were both like "Wait, since when is there a fat one? OH"), and Sarah Silverman is always funny (moreso the standup than the butt singing). Oh, and gay Stephen Colbert FTW.
This is a busy week. Tonight Casey and I are going to a show at her school called Faculty Follies. The teachers do funny skits and stuff. Her math teacher is going to sing Tattoo, so she was dying to go. It starts at the exact time I usually show up to pick her up from the school, so I think I might leave just a tad early so I can grab us some dinner and meet her there, and then if we get out before 8 I'll walk her over to her Girl Scout meeting (they meet at her school from 7-8). Tomorrow she has her first track meet at 4, so I'm leaving work early so I can go watch. And then she has gymnastics. Thursday we're going out to dinner with her dad and step-mom, and Friday we're going out to eat with my parents for my dad's birthday. So yeah, busy week.
