My little girl is 12 today. She's becoming a beautiful, bright, charming young lady.

SIGH

In other news, I can't breathe through my right nostril and it's making me nuts. I'm back at work today, feeling a little better. The fever crept back up last night, but never quite reached 100. I also had the WORST headache for a while. But I slept really well, and other than my clogged nose I'm doing okay today.

Casey tried out for track yesterday and it continues today after school. She said it almost seems like nobody is going to get cut because they are already putting them into categories based on their strengths (Casey is a sprinter), but she's not sure. She did say that every time they had her race somebody she won, so that's a good sign.

I watched Love In The Time of Cholera last night. It was okay. If you've read the book, you've pretty much seen the movie too.

Casey's new favorite show is Wizards of Waverly Place on Disney Channel (Harry Potter 2.0, imo). We watched a couple of eps last night. It is kind of interesting and the teen male lead is really talented and funny, but I have two problems with it. One, the star of the show is a self-entitled brat. All she ever does is break rules and lie to her parents. She always learns her lesson at the end of the show, but by the next episode she's up to her antics again. It's the entire premise of the show. When I told Casey how I felt about it, she said "I know. She's awesome." Great. Which leads me to the 2nd issue - stupid parents. They fall for that shit every time. It's annoying. I know it's not the only kid show out there with bratty kids and dumb parents, but this one in particular bugs me for some reason. I think it's just more blatant or something. Rugrats always kinda bugged me too, because it was basically a show about parents who neglected their kids to the point of abuse.

casey's shows, health, love in the time of cholera, movies, sports, tv, school
