We made those chicken nuggets again last night. Yummy. Casey says we should make them every night because they are fun to make and delicious. She actually said they taste better than McDonald's chicken nuggets, which is cool because they are way healthier. In case you are interested, all you do is put a cup of cornflakes in a ziploc bag and crush them, then add a teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 tsp italian seasoning, 1/4 tsp onion powder and 1/4 tsp garlic powder and shake it up. Cut boneless, skinless chicken thighs into small pieces, put them in the bag and shake until coated, and then cook at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. Easy peasy!
By the time we finished cooking and eating and I cleaned up, did a few loads of laundry and put a strand of lights on the Christmas tree, I was tired and quit working for the night. So yeah, the decorating is being done one tiny step at a time, LOL. My mom said she's going to get me a new tree in the after Christmas sales... one of those new ones that's easy to put up and already has lights on it. Wee. Mine is the old tree I grew up with. My parents gave it to me when they bought a new one. It's a total piece of crap. Ah well, it will do for now but it will be nice to have a new one next year.
Do any of you watch Kid Nation? I've been DVRing it and we fell 4 episodes behind, so we watched one last night. Lauren, this little freckled faced redheaded girl sang Amazing Grace and blew me away. Amazing. I was just wondering if anyone else saw that. Wowie.
Everything is going into reruns now. Stupid writers strike. "Chuck Bartowski will be back after the New Year. We hope." WHINE.
There's still so much to do at home. Tonight after I drop Casey and Dani off at Girl Scouts, I'm going to pay bills (I usually do that Saturday morning, but never got around to it) and hopefully finish the laundry and decorating. I could also use a few groceries, but I think it can wait until tomorrow. We're supposed to be going to a free preview of that movie
Juno that evening (Thanks to
imommies...
glass_lion, I'm glad you mentioned that in your LJ... I signed up!), but I never got an email confirmation for my tickets. I'm going to try it again from my home computer with my work email so they don't know it's me again, and hopefully I'll get it this time. Maybe it got lost in my spam. Anyway, we can stop by a store on the way home from the movie tomorrow, I suppose.
Tomorrow morning I have a research clinic appointment. Actually, I have one Friday too. I was just supposed to go in Friday morning for a 3 hour appt, but they ended up calling and asking if I could split it up. Tomorrow I have an echocardiogram with a very hot hot hottie technician. Heh. Then on Friday I'll be doing my usual stuff like weighing in and talking to the nutritionist, plus some extra stuff. It's my one year visit (of a 2 year study), so it's supposed to be a big deal. They're going to give me a bunch of free stuff and a check for $100 (YEY) and I have to get pretty thoroughly checked out. I'm hoping to lose a couple more pounds before then. They told me I just needed to maintain during the holidays... they aren't expecting losses. Well, I managed to gain 7 pounds during Thanksgiving week (jeez, I didn't think I was doing THAT bad). I have lost 5 of them since then and I'm trying to get rid of those last two. It would be nice if I could lose even more and really impress them, but I doubt that will happen in just a few days.
