In Which I Have Several Brain Farts
I kept forgetting yesterday was Memorial Day. I guess not getting the day off had something to do with it. Although they did have a parade and a lunch for veterans here. But yeah, Casey and I tried to go to the library last night and it took me a while to figure out why the heck it was closed. Then later I went to get the mail and I was all confused that I didn't have any. Dork.
This morning we had our staff meeting, and I totally forgot to get food for it. Thank God there's an employee store really close to my building, so I just ran over there and got some donuts and milk really quick. I usually have a reminder on my calendar the day before, but my boss moved the meeting and I didn't notice or think to move my reminder. Dork again. LOL
Casey gave me a bit of a scare last night. She told me she'd finally talked to her Math teacher about that missing test grade and the teacher said it was too late to change it. With that zero, she goes from an A in the class to a solid F. So I was a bit panicked and ready to open up a can of whoop-ass on the teacher. Because come on, if she's never missed a day of class, she obviously took the test, and yeah maybe she can be a bit of a flake, but I don't see her taking a test and then forgetting to hand it in. Anyway, I got an email from the teacher today, and I see that Casey was just confused. She's missing two things - that test and an assignment they did in class. The teacher told her it was too late to turn in that class work. I still don't get why she wouldn't turn in work she did in class, but that is worth so much less than a test. The teacher told me she was sure she had a grade for Casey on the test, and she'd get back to me on it. Whew.
How I Met Your Mother was so full of awesome last night... one of the best I've seen in a long time. I'm tempted to google a dog pooping on a baby, but I really don't want to see it. Curiosity is probably going to get the better of me though. LOL
Chuck was also great. Yay Rachel Bilson! Chuck is pretty Seth-like too. Also, I think my new catch phrase is going to be "Words taste like peaches", LOL. Check it out, I just made that my journal title. WOOT. When she said that, I spent the next 20 minutes giggling for some reason.
Loving Kristen Bell on Heroes. I'm so glad we finally found out what happened after the season finale.
I can't believe Prison Break is gone until January. Boo.
I miss The Daily Show. Writers strike, end please. Give them their money, you fat cats, so we can have our shows back. Although, the lack of new shows that is soon to come might give me a chance to clean up my DVR, which is currently 85% full.
I'm kind of pathetic. I realize this.
Oh yeah, I had another roach sighting this morning. Time for new baits, which I'll be picking up tonight. I went downstairs after I woke up, and there was this HUGE freaking roach, lying on the kitchen floor on its back. But it was not dead. I sprayed it with hairspray, which still did not kill it. And then I was scared to pick it up, so I vacuumed it. Which just added more drama, because Willow hates the vacuum cleaner almost as much as she hates the fire alarm, so she started attacking and biting it, and I had to lock her in the bathroom. LOL
Speaking of the doggie, I totally forgot to call ahead and book her at her kennel for when we go to Georgia next week. I just called and they are full. ACK. I did get her into the vet kennel (only because they had a cancellation), but I asked Pet Palace to put me on a waiting list because I know she'd be happier there. Poor thing. They are good with her at the vet, but it's still... you know, the VET. :o(
