Ugh. We've got another one of those town hall events coming up at work, and Ken (that guy who isn't really my boss but he doesn't have an assistant so I have to help him) is in charge of it this time. It's going to be at a local park, and he's got me helping him reserve the pavilions. I can't believe how many hoops you have to jump through just to do that. I've had to sign and fill out a million forms and they need an insurance form and all this crap. Stooopid.

Also, I was about 40 minutes late to work today because they decided to close all but one lane of the 4 lane road I was on. Hey, maybe you shouldn't do your construction during the morning rush on a road that already tends to have a lot of traffic, jerkoffs.

I'm covered in pink head to toe today in honor of Breast Cancer awareness. Most of the girls (and some of the guys) here at work have on pink shirts, but I went all out. I've also got pink capris and pink high tops on.

Casey is spending her first whole day by herself at home today. It's a school holiday. I'm not too worried. She's been doing fine in the afternoons, and besides - chances are she'll sleep most of the day anyway. It's pretty rare that we get to sleep in, but when she gets the chance, she can SLEEP IN. Once she slept until 3 PM. I'm okay with her sleeping late on her day off, but I also want her to clean her disastrous room, so I'm going to call her at 1 and make sure she's up. At first I said noon, and then she requested 2, so we compromised. I'm not sure if the phone is going to wake her up, though. She sleeps through alarm clocks, so yeah. We'll see.

Last night I cooked the chicken marsala from the recipes my nutritionist gave me. It was pretty simple... just cover the chicken with a combination of flour, salt and pepper and then cook it in a skillet with marsala wine and lemon juice (and mushrooms, but I left that out because we don't like them). It came out pretty good. I thought it was a tad plain (maybe the mushrooms would have helped), but Casey loved it and devoured 2 plates of it. I said "I'm glad you like it, it's healthy" and she was like OH NO HEALTHY GROOOOAAAN. LOL

We finally watched this week's Heroes last night. All I can say is, I can't wait until Monday because KRISTEN BELL YAY. It looks like she's going to be a really interesting character.

The Office was cute last night. Those people sure to do like to date at work, LOL. But the couples were all cute last night (even the broken up ones). Also, "He's been watching Million Dollar Baby.... he's gonna try to kill me", Mose rocks, Harry Potter FTW, Emo Dwight makes me want to cry, crazy Kelly was awesome, "I have moonwalked past accounting like ten times!", "Monkey problems? Why would I have monkey problems?", I DECLARE BANKRUPTCY!!!!", and "I'm in love with Italian food".

As for Greys, I'm kind of falling in love with Alex. My love for George is wavering a bit because he's been acting stupid the last couple of seasons, but still... him running around the hospital was cute. Oh, and the old intern (grampa Gilmore!) trying to sound young was adorable. "'Sup?" and "Seriously?" FTW. Also, in general I hate Derek and love Cristina, but last night I kind of switched that, just for a moment. I cheered Derek on when he put her in her place. And then "don't come to me for forgiveness, you traitorous bitch" - oof, she so deserved that.

Weekend plans - Well, I had some things planned that got canceled. Melanie invited us to go with her and Bana to a festival thingy tomorrow, and then yesterday when I emailed her to confirm she was like "Oh yeah, we aren't doing that anymore." I'm not surprised. We could just go on our own, but I don't know... Casey is starting to get a little old for face painting and carnival games and I think she only wanted to go to hang with Bana. Who knows? We'll see. Also, tomorrow night was supposed to be this month's ladies night (like the one at Jean's house last month), but the girl who was hosting had to cancel. Jean emailed all of us yesterday saying that we could still do something, like go out to eat or whatever, but I'm getting the feeling it's not going to happen. People seem to have resigned themselves to not going. Oh well. The next one is in December.

What IS going to happen this weekend- Casey has gymnastics practice tomorrow and then we're probably going to run to the bank and set up her savings account. Then that night is her lock in at the church. I drop her off at 8 PM and then I'll be picking her up the next morning at around 8:30. The leader told me that they would be attending the 7:30 AM mass and that I was welcome to attend with her, and to that I say OH HELL NO. I'll just pick her up when it's over. I don't know if I'll be doing church myself or not. I don't want to make Casey go again later, but I guess technically I could let her stay home and go to the 9:00 one with my parents. I don't know if I want to, though. I'll think about it. And then we'll probably go out for breakfast as usual with my parents.

Oh, also I really want to go see Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D. Casey is being very ho hum about it (she said "we've seen it a million times. What difference is 3D going to make?"... hmph), but I think I may drag her there anyway. Maybe we'll have dinner first or something.

That's pretty much it, other than the usual household chores and stuff. Woo.
