The eye doctor appointment went well in that my vision has apparently improved since last year. The doctor is in love with the brand of contacts I use (Acuvue Oasis) and claims they are the reason I improved. I like them too. However, he was saying that he's leaning toward having his patients use the daily contacts, meaning wear them one day and then throw them out, because contact solutions keep being recalled. He said right now the only safe brand is Opti-Free, and if that ever gets recalled he's going to tell his patients they get to either wear glasses or daily lenses because he's getting too paranoid about the solutions. Anyway, because I really like the contacts I use and they only come in the 2 week variety, I'm sticking with them and the Opti-Free for now.
Very interesting, I know.
They did use the air blast of doom on me, but I survived. Actually, when they first called me I was walked right past that room and into the exam room, and I did a mental happy dance. But alas, a few minutes later she took me back there. I did manage to avoid getting my pupils dilated though, because they have this new machine that does the same thing without needing it. It basically takes a picture of your eye, and I guess it gives a better view than any other test they can do. He showed me the pictures and how my eyes are disease free, and it was kind of cool. The test costs an extra $25, but it was worth it not to be blind for a few hours from being dilated.
Okay, enough about the boring ol' eye doctor.
When I left, I called my parents to let them know I was on my way to pick Casey up. My mom said they were going to this new pizza place (American Pie) and asked if we wanted to come (wow, my family eats out a lot). We were going to cook pizza at home last night, but I had my mom put Casey on the phone and asked which she preferred. She asked if I'd be going to the restaurant and I said yeah, so she said she'd go. I like that she only wanted to go if I went. I'm enjoying her wanting to hang out with me, because I know it won't last much longer. SIGH.
Anyway, the place was pretty cool. They play music videos on flat screen TVs that hang from the ceiling and they have Playstation games you can play at your table. I had this thing called Goop Dogs, which is basically a sloppy joe in a hot dog bun with some BBQ sauce added in. Healthy!
When we got home I took Willow out. I came back in to some lovely news. Turns out, Willow had pooped in the living room. Casey stepped in it without noticing and proceeded to walk all over the house. GR. I had quite a mess to clean up. YECK.
Today we slept in and then I've been on here for 2 hours. Hey, I had a lot of emails, and I've been breaking away for laundry and stuff. Time to get a few things done around here. Then we have to take showers and head over to Daniel's house at around 4. We're going to say hello to his dogs and birds and then go to Downtown Disney. Dinner at Rainforest Cafe is out because they are booked solid until like 10 PM. So we're going to get there early and try Planet Hollywood (they don't do reservations), and if we can't get in there, we'll just wing it. There are plenty of fast foody places we could eat at, and it will be nice to walk around and look in the shops and everything. Then we have tickets for Die Hard at 7, and I'm hoping to see the MGM fireworks from where we are when we get out. I'm psyched. It should be fun, and I haven't seen Daniel in forever.
Happy Fourth, guys!
