Dinner with Jae and Bing last night was nice. They gave Casey 3 pretty groovy DS games for her birthday.
In other news, Casey drove me bonkers last night and this morning. Today the school had auditions for a talent show. Casey had been planning to try out with some gymnastics and I signed a form and all that, but until last night, I never saw her work on a routine, plan the music or anything. I even reminded her a few times, but all she wanted to do was play on the computer or with her DS. I didn't push it, it was up to her whether or not she wanted to do it, and she's a big girl who can handle it herself, or at least know when to ask for my help. So last night when we got home from dinner, she spent the whole night playing on her DS and on the computer again, and then when I told her to go to bed, she's like "Oh yeah. I have to look up my song lyrics to make sure there are no bad words in it". So I let her do that real quick, and then she says she doesn't know what time the audition is, and that maybe we'd have to get there early today. At this point it's 10:30 PM, so it's not like we can call anyone to ask. SIGH. So we had to get up early just in case, and then she called Christine and found out it was at 9. Also, she was setting her cell phone to get up early this morning and she realized it needed charging, but couldn't get the charger to plug in right. Argh. She didn't even go to bed until after 11. I have to start putting my foot down more with her. And then this morning she's like "I need batteries for my boom box", which she may or may not have needed to bring to play her music on. So we had to stop at Walgreens.
Here's a bright idea.... not waiting until 10 PM the night before to plan for something. GR. My mom said she learned it from me. She's probably right.
I watched that new show Thank God You're Here last night. I haven't decided if I like it or not. I did laugh. Nobody really sucked, but then they did edit it. I thought the practice runs were funnier than the actual skits. I was particulary impressed with Kevin Nealon and Edie McClurg.
Speaking of TV, just a quick comment about Desperate Housewives...
The thing with Tom was a rip off. I hate when they lead you to believe something from the previews and it turns out to be BS. So, they show Tom on the ground and Lynette saying "I forbid you to die!", right? Yeah, dude threw his back out and passed out from the pain. Whatever. Not that I want him to die, but there's not much drama in a thrown back, you know?
