First, a rant. Did you hear they pulled the Snickers commercial that aired during the Superbowl because it was homophobic? I’m normally the first person to defend gay rights, but that’s just bullshit. If you haven’t seen it, there are two guys working on a car. One pulls out a snicker bar and sticks it in his mouth, so while he’s working on the car, it’s hanging out of his mouth. The other guy can’t resist and starts chewing the end, and then it’s like Lady and the Tramp and their lips end up touching. So they jump back, and one guy goes “We just accidentally kissed. Quick, do something manly!” and they rip out their chest hair and yell. It’s really funny. It’s NOT homophobic. It’s actually kind of making fun of homophobia. News flash - straight guys don’t like to kiss each other! Is portraying that in a commercial homophobic? NO. It’s NOT. Get over it.
As for me, I’m back at work today. Yay? Yesterday was nice, since I basically played on the computer all day in the jury room and then got home early. I managed to get some groceries and do my taxes. I’m getting a decent bit back, but it’s all going to my new floors. I do want to at least hold onto enough for us to make another trip to Magical Mealtime. When we were eating those meals, I was losing weight. It was so much easier, so I wasn’t doing as much fast food, and it was all fairly healthy food. It’s just hard to hand over $70 all at once, even though that’s not so bad considering the savings on groceries or eating out. So yeah, I’m going to use my refund and we’re going to make like 12 meals so it will last us a little while.
The previews for next week’s Gilmore Girls made me squee. I fucking hate Christopher. He’s mentally 11 years old. But you know who I don’t hate? Emily. I love her so much. And Paul Anka the dog. How awesome is he that you have to lay your coat on the steps to get him to go down them? He’s like a princess or something.
As for American Idol… “Simon needs to go back to…where’s he from? France?” “He’s British” “Well, he needs to go back to British”. A ha ha ha. And I also love when they were badmouthing the judges and Ryan goes “Um…. They’re my friends. Well, 2 of them.” He’s so cute.
And… you guys? Um… I’m attracted to Simon. Is that bad? Seriously… first of all, he’s in really good shape, as you can see through those t-shirts he wears. But I also like how he gets the giggles and gets all amused by the contestants. Of course he’s too mean sometimes and makes me cringe, but there’s something about him that makes me love him.
