After a pretty sedentary day at home, Casey and I headed out to Universal last night to have dinner at Circus McGurkus. I let her choose from the list of places we could go for ½ off with my coupon. Circus is not fancy by any means… it’s cafeteria style. But the food is good. I had spaghetti and meatballs. Much of which ended up on my shirt. Go me. After we were done eating, we had about 30 minutes before the park closed and Casey wanted to squeeze in a couple of rides. We started at the new trolley that goes around Seuss Landing. I expected it to be kind of a boring baby ride, but actually I thought it was really fun. Yeah, it’s slow, but it’s way up in the air and you pass by really cute sneetches and sneetch neighborhoods. There are 2 tracks and one goes through the restaurant we’d eaten at, but we ended up on the other one. I really wanted to try both, but Casey wanted to make sure she had time for the roller coaster. So I think one day during my lunch break I’ll run out there and hop on the trolley. Anyway, we did have time to run over to the coaster, which she rode twice. I love coasters, but for no reason in particular I wasn’t in the mood to ride one, so I just let her go.
We were home by a little after 8, so not bad for a school night. I got a ton of laundry put away while she took a shower, we watched some TV and that’s our night. Oh, speaking of TV, Desperate Housewives made me cheer for the first time in a while. “Did you see this coming?” Oh hee hee. Go Bree.
This weekend is Casey’s big ski trip. My mom has been calling me every day (sometimes more than once) to check on this and that. It’s a little annoying. Like I don’t know how to do anything. She was even saying something about what I should pack for her, and she goes “I’ll come over and help you pack, but make sure she has…”. I was like “Hey. I can pack her stuff myself.” JEEZ. Like I’ve never sent Casey anywhere or packed her bags? Yeah, this is her first time getting on a plane and going somewhere there’s snow and I don’t know much about packing for snow since I live in Orlando. But hey, she lives in Orlando too, and she grew up in Georgia, so she’s no expert. Besides, my uncle (her brother), who planned the whole thing and is taking her to the resort has already emailed me all the details I need. So hey mom, try to remember that I’m THIRTY TWO YEARS OLD and have been raising a child by myself for almost 11 years now and doing a pretty damn good job at that, mkay?
