The weird things my child does…

-Yesterday she texted me (yeah, she’s still doing that) as I was leaving work, saying that her friend in after school care had gotten her a Christmas present, and could we stop at the store after I picked her up and get one for her too? So I said sure, and we ended up getting her a kit that makes snow globes. Seems pretty cute. I hope it’s not too messy. By the way, her friend hasn’t actually given her a gift. She just told her she had one for her. So who knows if it’s true? But it doesn’t really matter.

So when we got home I put it in a gift bag for her, and this morning I suggested that I just bring it by when I pick her up. That way she won’t have to carry it around school all day. She told me that her friend is usually picked up before I get there, and she actually asked me to leave work early just so I could bring her present to her. Ha. Right. I’m going to miss work for that. She still refused to take it to school with her, so I’m just going to bring it tonight and if she’s not there, we’ll leave it at the desk or something and she can give it to her tomorrow.

-This morning she came in my room to inform me that she didn’t want to take the dog out because she could barely keep her eyes open. I take the dog out. If she does it, it’s nice and all, but it’s the exception to the rule. So her announcement didn’t make any sense. And she woke me from a deep sleep, so I was even more confused because I was out of it. She went back to bed and I hit snooze. Ha. I was having some sort of dream when she woke me up, and for the life of me I can’t remember what it was about. Oh well.

-She had one of her moody moods this morning. When we were on our way to her school, she was just sitting there looking sullen. I asked her what was wrong and she just sat there. I nudged her playfully and she said “Nothing!” I asked if she was tired, and she said no. So I called her grumpy and sent her on her way. Hormones. Hmph. I hope her teacher has fun with her today. Although those moods of hers don’t last long. She’s probably fine by now.

And TV...

-We watched the 2 hour season premier of Beauty and The Geek last night. That’s highly entertaining stuff right there. That show makes me feel both smart and cool. But not so pretty compared to those girls. Yikes, they are gorgeous. But yeah, no lights on upstairs. I think Mario is my favorite geek. He seemed really at ease when he did stand up. It looked like he should have won, but they barely showed any of it, so who knows? I kinda hate ultra competitive girl. She’s a bitch. I’m glad she didn’t take the money and leave because I want her to leave with nothing. That’s rough though, because her partner seems nice. Too bad for him that he ended up with her. I didn’t like the girl who left either, because she was a big baby. I can’t believe she got so upset with her partner. Hello, she sucked ass at everything she did, and he was nice to her the whole time. What, he didn’t say good job? That’s because you suck. I do realize that with editing they can make it look like whatever they want, so maybe he was a dick to her and they didn’t show it, but that would surprise me.

-We also watched more OC season 1, and I gotta say the Thanksgiving episode where Seth tries to juggle Summer and Ana was freaking hilarious. As much as I love Seth/Summer in the current season, I would definitely have wanted him to choose Ana back then because Summer was being such a bitch to him. Oh, and what was with the grainy picture when they were in Chino? I guess they were trying to convey that it’s a different world or that it’s a bad place or something, but that was kind of dumb.

-Really good Medium. I like that her kids have the gift too, so you can incorporate different kinds of stories into the mix.

-New Office tonight. SQUEEE!
