I just signed up for my first session with Magical Mealtime (magicalmealtime.com). I know one of you posted about something similar called Super Suppers before. It’s this cool thing where you go online, choose several meals that you want to cook, then make an appointment to go to the place. When you get there, all your ingredients are ready to go, and you have a step-by-step sheet of instructions. You mix them up there, take them home, put them in your freezer and viola! Meals for days that simply need to be heated up. That is perfect for us, since we are so busy and we have got to stop eating so much fast food. So, we go in Saturday afternoon and we are going to make 6 meals. I think they will be enough to feed us for 12 dinners, because they serve 3 and we are 1 1/2, since she doesn’t eat that much. It will cost $69. So, that comes to less than $6 a meal. For both of us! Wow. I’m excited. I think it will be fun. We’re going to cook baja chicken, chicken cordon bleu, herb stuffed pork loin, lasagna, roasted vegetable meatloaf, and shrimp & rice. Mmm!
Speaking of my new diet plan, I attempted to plan today’s meals last night, and my gawd it’s hard. Trying to figure out how much of what food group everything fits into and then making sure I get the right amount was nearly impossible. Rita (the nutritionist) told me not to get stressed about it, because it’s not really an exact science anyway. And really, if I stop eating fast food everyday, that alone will drop the pounds off. So I’m doing my best. This morning I had a banana, a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of milk. I’m not sure about lunch yet. I’m going to go see what the cafeteria has. I did bring some Lean Pockets, but I will at least need some veggies on the side. And if I see an entrée I want instead of the pocket, I may do that. For dinner, Casey and I area doing Make Your Own Salad, where we take chicken, apples, bacon bits, cheese, croutons, and celery, put everything into bowls and make our own dinner. It’s nummy and healthy, so yay!
Anyway, small crisis at work last night. Totally my bad. I have a color printer at my desk that everyone uses to print loads of stuff. It has a separate toner for each color, and when one runs out, it stops working. It’s stupid, because you can run out of, say, red ink and it won’t even print a black and white document. Anyway, the toners cost like $200 each, but they tend to last a while. I try to keep spares on hand, but I don’t get too concerned, because the printer usually warns me a couple of weeks beforehand, so I can order it. Orders come in the next day if they are placed by 4 or so.
Anyway, we have been in presentation mode for the last month or so. We have a new president, so everyone has to do these presentations for him to introduce him to our area, and this means several drafts because it has to be approved by each step along the way before finally making it to him in the end. So, people have been printing color PowerPoint presentations like crazy. And since the only color copier in the whole company is in a building far away, they are just printing every copy of the 40 something page documents to my printer. So we’ve been flying through some toner. Honestly, we probably would have spent less buying ourselves a copier than on that ink.
So last night one of our guys was late for his 5 PM meeting and he was printing out presentations for it when the blue ink ran out. The printer went night night and guess what? No spare. GAH. So I had to scramble. I got a wonderful assistant to print the remaining copies for me, but her printer was so slow that by the time I gave them to him his meeting was half over. SIGH. I ordered more toner, but it won’t be here until tomorrow. So I had to run to the store on my way in today and get some. Fun stuff. Guess I better make sure I have spares for the rest of them. I worked about 15 minutes late because of that. No big though.
Casey had one of her famous shower meltdowns last night. You know, where she decides that taking a shower is a form of torture and then fights tooth and nail to get out of it? Yup. It took about ½ hour of arguing, me threatening to ground her for the weekend (that includes no computer or TV), and the door being slammed twice so hard that I thought I was going to have to make her pay to get it repaired. Oh, and by the way, I’m mean. Oh fun.
Good TV last night. Watch while I try to avoid using cuts, but still not be spoilery…
I just want to say “GO LUKE!” for the end of Gilmore Girls last night. It’s about time he stood up for himself. I actually applauded.
Oh holy crap, Veronica Mars rocked my socks. I think I’m even more in love with Logan after that last scene. I love when he gets all protective. And yay for the return of Mac.
Great Nip/Tuck. Poor Sean. How cute is Wilbur? Um… that’s all.
