Totally forgot about Big Brother last night. Damn. Not that we were home, but I coulda taped it. It's okay, I read about it on TVGuide.com today and they always show clips from the previous eps. I think I might survive this.
Today Casey started Oceanography camp. ERG... remember how my mom was supposed to take her but then she had work issues, so I have to do it? I'm not complaining about my mom, because God bless her for leaving early every day this week to pick her up. But man, the school is downtown, which means driving on the highway in rush hour traffic. I do not know how some people do that every day. It took an hour to get somewhere it would have taken 20-30 minutes at another time of the day. We're going to leave earlier tomorrow and hope that traffic won't be heavy yet. She was just a few minutes late today, but I had wanted to drop her off early so I could get to work at a decent time. I am apparently allowed to leave her there at 8:45 (starts at 9). So we'll try for that tomorrow.
Anyway, there are several different classes going on at once, and hers has 8 students. Small, but that's good. More one-on-one attention and all, and I'd think she'll make friends more easily in such a small group. The courses are only open to students who scored in at least the 95th percentile on the FCAT, so I think this will challenge her more than regular school does, and she has that in common with the other kids. The teacher is an older lady who has taught in several countries through DODDS, which is the schools for military kids overseas. I went to DODDS schools during the 3 years I lived in England. Anyway, she seems nice. Hopefully Casey will enjoy the camp and not think it's too boring. They are having a showcase on Friday at 2:30, which means me taking a long lunch break so I can go see it.
My mom is picking her up today at 3:30 when camp ends and then taking her shopping for some back to school stuff. Yay mom. Then I pick her up for gymnastics later. Busy day for the kid.
Not sure what I'm doing with her next week, or the one after that. We'll see. But after that, it's time for 5th grade.
