I just finished reading "Something Blue", Emily Giffin's sequel to "Something Borrowed", and I LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 This book focused on Darcy and Ethan from the last book and made me just LOVE Darcy!!! :D I love how Emily was able to write this to change the way we think about Darcy and realize she's a good person and can change. ;) I also loved how this book took place in England!!! :D
Now I can't really speak about this without spoilers so be warned!!! ;)
I LOVED pairing up Darcy & Ethan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 They were such a cute couple and how they "dated" in the 5th grade. ;) I loved how it all worked out for Darcy in the end and she was able to change her life, leave Marcus who was such a slob and left her because she was pregnant, forgive and make amends with Rachel & Dex, and become a mom!!! <3 I had a feeling her baby would have been a boy because of the title, but I had NO IDEA the twist with identical twin boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D John and Thomas sounds SO cute and I love how they looked like Ethan even though they were really his children. ;) He was so meant to be their dad. <3
Now I don't know if this will be made into a film anytime soon or not. If you didn't see my review of "Something Borrowed" a film is out right now with Kate Hudson as Darcy, John Krasinski as Ethan, Ginnifer Goodwin as Rachel, and Colin Eggelsfiled as Dex. I haven't seen it yet and I think I will eventually. However, I still can't picture Kate as Darcy. The rest are perfect choices IMO. To me Darcy should have been casted with an actress who looks more like how Emily wrote the character and someone like Evangeline Lilly. ;) She would have been perfect as Darcy and we finally would have gotten to see her paired up with John, who they both had GREAT chemistry when they did joint interviews for LOST and "The Office" at the Emmys a few years back. Fans of both of them (and me) want them to work together and I feel bummed that this really could have happened. ;) But that's how I'll picture the characters when I re-read the books. ;)
But no matter than, I totally recommend these books and Emily's other books as well!!! :D Emily writes SO amazingly and I can't wait to read her other books!!!!!!!! :D
