My favorite award show just annouced their nominations and I'm really happy about a LOT of them!!! :D However, I am sad about a few getting snubbed or shut out, more so in the TV catagories, but it's understandable. Anyway, here's some of my highlights:
First, the sad news. I'm SO sad that LOST wasn't nominated for any of the TV catagories. :( It was still eligable. But the Globes usually do like to mix in new shows with old, and "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Walking Dead" have been really well praised so it makes sense that they would get in there and edge out LOST. I think think they and Matthew Fox should have been nominated, but at least they were in the Emmys and we do still have the SAG awards. ;)
Now on to my happy nominations!!! :D First the TV ones, then the film ones. ;)
TV:
For drama series I'm VERY happy with "Mad Men" getting another and I think it might be their's to win again!!! :D We'll see since as I mentioned earlier with the new shows and their other competiion it could be a bit tougher this year.
I'm really glad both Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men) and Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs) got nominated for TV Drama Actress!!! :D I wasn't expecting Piper at all, so that is SO awesome!!! :D I think Lizzy Moss will win, espically after "The Suitcase" episode. ;)
And Jon Hamm (Mad Men) better win for TV Drama Actor again!!! :D I'd like to finally see him accept it in the tradional cermony. ;) LOL He won it for the 1st time during the writer's strike and it wasn't shown on TV.
TV Comedy I'm VERY happy with!!! :D "The Big Bang Theory" finally got nominated, and it's going up againt "30 Rock", "Glee", and "Modern Family"!!! :D So if any of those 4 shows win I'll be fine. ;) LOL But kinda sad that it's the first time "The Office" hasn't been nominated. :/ But I can totally get that too since it hasn't been it's best.
Very happy too for Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Lea Michelle (Glee) getting TV Comedy Actress noms again. :) Same with Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Steve Carell (The Office), Matthew Morrison (Glee), and Jim Parson (TBBT) finally for TV Comedy Actor!!! :D
And really happy with Jane Lynch (Glee), Sofia Vergara (Modern Family), Scott Caan (Hawaii Five-0), Chris Colfer (Glee), and Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) all getting TV Supporting Actress/Actor noms!!! :D
Movies:
VERY, very happy with "Inception" and "The Social Network" getting Best Drama noms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D "Inception" was AMAZING and I can't wait to see "The Social Network"!!! :D Both very deserving. ;) I don't know who will win though and I think it's going to be one or the other. ;)
I'm just sad that "The Town" didn't get nominated here, but I think it will at the Oscars. ;) And I don't like how the actors for "Inception" didn't get nominated either. :/ I'm also sad that "Nowhere Boy" didn't get any nominations. :( I thought for sure it would get either Best Comedy/Musical or have Anne-Marie Duff or Kristin Scott Thomas get nominated. :/ Or that "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" wasn't nominated for Foreign Language film or Best Actress Drama. :/
But yay for Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) getting a nom for Lead Actor in a Drama!!! :D And Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs) for Lead Actress in a Comedy/Musical!!! :D And Jermey Renner (The Town) and Andrew Garfiled (The Social Network) for Supporting Actor. :D
Pretty cool too that "Toy Story 3", "How to Train Your Dragon", and "Tangeled" both got noms for Animated film!!! :D
Very happy too for Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) getting a Best Screenplay nom!!! :D Same with Christopher Nolan (Inception) for Screenplay and Directing!!! :D
