What another GREAT episode of “Mad Men” last night!!!!!!!! :D SO many shocking things happened last night that I was not expecting at all!!! :O And we had some great scenes and some storylines come to a boiling point!!! ;)
First I’m so glad we got to see Sally and Don spend time together!!! :D I feel so bad for Sally, but I’m really glad she took the risk to see her dad. ;) I had a feeling Betty wouldn’t pick her up after she ran away and hopped a train to Manhattan. So we got to see Sally and Don together and you can just see all this girl wants is her dad. ;) She finally asked Don if she could live with him and I felt so bad for them both. Sally I think would be better off if Don really did look into it. There are schools everywhere and they could find one. Don’t know about Bobby and Gene, but at least they could make it work with Sally. Plus, if I’m not mistaken I know now the kids can decide where they want to live and I think it’s when they reach 12 or 13. I’m not sure if it was the same back then, but if it is they could take it to court. We’ll see what happens, but those scenes where Sally told Don how much she loves him, misses him, and acting out in the office screaming and falling about not wanting to go back were just powerful. I really hope we’ll get more about this for the rest of the season and find out what is going to happen because I just have a bad feeling something major is going to happen.
Then Miss Blankenship dying was a total shock for me!!! :O When Peggy discovered her body that was just creepy!!! :O Then Don finding out, and the girls moving her body, hiding it from Sally, and Don, Ken, and Faye trying to pretend in front of the clients that it wasn’t happening even though they could see it through the glass was just nuts. It’s really sad too that she just died all of a sudden. Poor Burt seemed shaken up by it as Roger a bit as well.
Speaking of Faye, I do like her and I kind of like her with Don, but I don’t think it’s going to work out. With the divorce and the kids and all the issues caused by it, Faye seemed really overwhelmed by it all. But I’m really glad Don apologized to her about it and that he shouldn’t have involved her with Sally.
Then that was surprising having Roger and Joan get mugged!!! :O But it brought them closer and they realized they still have major feelings for each other. ;) Joan doesn’t want to get too involved because they are both married, but I think Joan’s husband Greg is not coming back; even more so now after hearing he’s going to Vietnam. ;) That was really nice of Roger getting her a massage treatment too. ;) But now I’m thinking Joan’s pregnant with Roger’s baby. ;) We know from earlier this season she was trying to with Greg but it wasn’t working. I wonder if she is now? ;)
Also, I really do want to read Roger’s book, even if it doesn’t have about him and Joan. ;) LOL
Really liked Peggy realizing about the civil rights and how a lot of their clients won’t hire blacks. It makes me wonder if Peggy is going to hire an African-American and we’ll finally get a main character who is black and we’ll get to see what was really happening for them in the 60s like we have with other 60s TV shows and films. ;) But Peggy is right too about women’s rights and how she moved her way up and there was still more to be done. And I don’t like that guy who liked her. LOL ;) Something about him I just didn’t like. LOL I don’t mind Joyce though.
But this was a really great episode and I can’t wait to see the final 4 episodes of Season 4!!! :D It’s still hard to believe this season is almost over. ;) But it’s just been SO good and it amazing me every time how great this show just is!!! :D
