We'll see if Joss decided to resurrect him or it's just a mislead.

Oooh. Ethan? For reals?

I think it's a mislead. The blurb is vague enough to describe a situation in which Angel gets a post-mortem artefact from Ethan, and the cover could be a "symbolic representation" or something like that.

You're probably right, but occasionally I like to pretend there's something I can actually look forward to about the comics...

No, I think they're Giles' aunts who were introduced a couple of issues before.

Damn I want Ethan to be alive but the covers barely have any resemblance to plot do they? It's another lovely piece of artwork though.

Yes, alas - I think that they use Ethan as a teaser to raise interest to the issue. Still, as Stormwreath writes below, there is a possibility of Ethan's essense still existing in the dreamspace.

That white cloth wrapped around Ethan looks a bit like a mummy's wrapping or a ghost's winding sheet - both suggesting that he's there as a ghost or spirit of some kind, not in the flesh.

Plus the last time Ethan appeared, he was showing Buffy 'dreamspace' - the mystical realm that links together everyone's subconscious via their dreams. So maybe he hid his soul there before he was shot?

Goos idea, Stephen. It could be quite a twist - Ethan's essence invading characters' dreams and telling them that they suck - basically Spike's role in season 4.
