Disclaimer: Not mine, making no money.

Summary: Sequel to "Dawn to Dusk " Friday at the club and Abby's prediction comes true in spades, but one patron isn't content to stay on the sidelines and admire. (Bonus points if you can identify the guest star before I reveal him...)

AN: Boy, do I now find myself craving just one canon epi where they let him look like this. Tony, undercover in a club... Abby designated to help him fit in... Oh, if DPB could only see the wisdom...

----------------------------------

"No! You can't chicken out on me! I've been waiting most of a week to see this, you have to at least go in, even if it's only for a minute..."

"Abby..."

"You said you liked it. Trust me, so will every single person in there."

"Not the married ones, huh? Too bad..." Tony joked weakly, tugging absently at the soft collar she'd once again secured around his neck. Abby smiled and gently pulled his hand away.

"That's the Tony I know and drool over. You ready, now?"

"I don't know... this isn't me."

"That's the point."

Tony brightened and finally began to look more interested than anxious.

"Like undercover."

Abby frowned a little.

"I guess... but not." She responded quietly, looking up from straightening his black duster just the tiniest bit. "How many times do I have to tell you that you don't need to pretend? The real you is sweet and smart and amazing, Tony. I love that guy. If you'll just let him show through..."

"Yeah, right... you obviously thought he needed major repairs or you wouldn't have done... all this." he retorted, waving vaguely at himself. Abby gripped his chin firmly and made him look directly into her eyes.

"No. The computer is fine, it just wasn't selling too well anymore. Your new look is a fresh box design. That's all. What's inside... is still as fantastic as ever." She reassured him, shifting the hand on his jaw down to rest over his heart. "All you have to do is let the wall down for a while... show them the man only Gibbs and I get to see. You won't regret it, I promise."

"Liar." He offered half-heartedly, managing to show her a smile. After a moment, he sighed heavily, shook himself a bit, put his shoulders back and smoothed his hands over the sides of his hair. "Okay. I'm ready. Just long enough for everyone to get a look and have a good laugh, right?"

"You have to believe me, Tony. Laughing is the last thing anybody in there is gonna be doing. C'mon..." Abby told him confidently as she slid her arm through his and tugged him forward.

----------------------

"Nah... thinkin' about headin' out. Nobody in here even worth lookin' at, never mind talkin' to. Which means anything beyond talk..."

"Out of the question. Yeah, yeah." The bartender chuckled. "You're just missing the one who got away."

"Whadda you know, anyhow? Only met me an hour ago..."

"But I've been doing this job for twelve years. I've seen the look a thousand times. She screwed you and you've just about convinced yourself you didn't really want her anyway, right?"

The starkly blond young man laughed bitterly, downed the rest of his beer and pushed the glass at the bartender. While his refill was being poured, he corrected the other man's assumptions.

"First off, mate... it was a him... an' he didn't get away. I never put a hook in the water."

"Mmm. Thought he was too good for you?"

"Somethin' like that. Too smart to say yes is more like it..."

"Hey, always another bus on the schedule. So I've heard, at least."

"Right. Last couple... they both ran me over then backed up an' did it again."

"Ouch. Doesn't mean you have to completely give up on finding something better, though."

"Does for me."

"Yeah, well... you might wanna take a look over by the door."

The blond took a swig of his second drink, rolled his eyes and snorted, but eventually he gave in and turned slightly to see what the bartender was referring to. What he found had him off the stool and on his feet in a flash, a wicked grin slowly transforming his face.

"Ooooh.... pretty."

"Sometimes that's all it takes to renew your faith."

"Might be... just might be." He drawled, laying cash for his tab on the bar and sauntering away.

----------------------

The moment they stepped inside, all conversation in the immediate vicinity abruptly stopped, gradually resuming only as they moved past. Catching a word here and there, Tony flushed brightly, realizing he was now the singular object of almost everyone's interest. Abby giggled gently at his change in coloring.

"What? I warned you."

"They're all talking about me."

"I know. I'm so proud of myself right now..."

"God, Abs..."

"Like I said, just relax and let the real Tony out for once. He deserves a chance to breathe and play... a chance to be seen."

"I'm not a multiple personality! Jeez..." he mumbled, now actively seeking a table in a dark corner where he could hide out until Abby decided he could leave.

"I didn't say that." Abby protested, whacking Tony lightly on the arm. "It's not some freaky mental thing... well it is, kind of anyway, but not a bad one! I mean, you do it on purpose and it's only so you don't get hurt again..."

She would have continued, possibly indefinitely, but Tony stared her down with an expression that dried up her words. "Okay, okay. No serious talk. We're here to have fun and that's what we'll do. Oh man... speaking of fun, look what's headed this way. I knew this night would be amazing!"

Tony glanced in the general direction Abby was pointing and took an involuntary step backwards. Had she not still been gripping his arm with one hand, he might have bolted for the parking lot.
